Hi! My name is Nina G. and I'm from Ukraine. I have been teaching German for over 10 years, individually, in groups, at university, online. I took courses in German and Latin during my undergraduate at Cornell University, achieving a minor in German Studies. I continued studying Latin over the course of my MPhil at the University of Cambridge, using it to look at medieval sources in the original language. I have two years of experience tutoring my classmates in German and Latin, and, as a prospective future teacher, I'm interested to offering my services to students who can use my help. I typically like to start lessons by pinpointing the problems and discomforts my students have with language, and develop strategies to combat them from there. Studying Latin has given me a strong understanding of how grammar structures language, and this informs my pedagogy, making me a clear explicator of the many uncertainties that come with grammar. Lessons can look different depending on the student's needs; I'm happy to work on homework together, go over past assignments and exams to find areas to improve, and to teach lessons when the student requires more individual attention. Most importantly, the student and their needs come first. As such, I'm happy to tutor in person or online, meeting the student in the middle to offer them the help they need to succeed.
