I have been teaching in a secondary school in Altrincham for 10 years and prior to this have taught in Surrey and North London. I also have experience of examining for the major examination boards at both GCSE and A Level.
I have over 10 years experience delivering maths sessions at various levels including KS2, KS3, GCSE and A-level.

I have been a science teacher for the past 6/7 years in Staffordshire. Last year my classes achieved an average of two grades above their GCSE target grades. The school I am currently teaching at in Staffordshire is ranked 4th in the county in terms of progress 8.
I am a well qualified graduate achieving an upper second class degree in biology at the university of Liverpool. I have been tutoring both biology and chemistry for the past two years on tutorhunt. During this time, I have helped multiple students achieve excellent grades in science.

I am friendly, approachable and enjoy making learning meaningful for pupils. My lessons begin with starting activities to recap the previous learning, identify any misconceptions. Moving onto the main part of the lesson I plan activities promoting fluency in the skill then application to a real-life situation or worded exam-style question. Games and quizzes can be fun and useful in testing rapid recall.
I have been teaching for fifteen years and have taught learners of all abilities, backgrounds and socio-economic circumstances, planning for progression and offering timely feedback. I endeavour to make learning as enjoyable as possible and do my utmost to "make learning stick". I am compassionate and go the extra mile for learners.

I am an experienced English teacher who has worked in secondary schools for the over 20 years. I am also an AQA Lead Moderator and and Adviser to more than 150 schools for English Language A Level. I have Advanced Diplomas (post degree) in Language and Literacy and in Child Development. English Language is my passion though, of course, I have taught GCSE Literature as part of my professional role in school and I love teaching the texts associated with the requirements of the course. I am happy to write specific schemes of work tailored for students' specific needs. I enjoy working with teenagers at both GCSE and A Level though my specialist Language knowledge is particularly relevant to A Level Language students. Increasingly, however, this in depth knowledge is relevant to GCSE English students. I am happy to work with all levels and relish the opportunity to engage with individuals who are seeking to increase their knowledge and understanding of the key requirements for both GCSE and A level courses. During the past year I have worked alongside students from years 7 - 13. I prefer to work online as this allows me to work one to one with pupils from across the country and help them to develop their skills through close monitoring and feedback. My DBS Certificate was renewed on 15 June 2024 and I have a current Child Protection Certificate 2023 both of which are requirements for my position as an English Teacher at a High School. I will make all powerpoints available to students after the classes and will mark and give feedback for work completed after the lessons although homework is optional.

I am a friendly, approachable wife, mum of two and teacher. I enjoy helping others and seeing their confidence grow which is the reason I chose teaching as a career. I have always been passionate about science and find how the world works to be fascinating. I love finding out about new developments in the area of science and how they can help us in the future, there is so much to learn about this subject as it does not stand still. Family time with my children will often involve a trip to a museum or an experiment at the kitchen table. I graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in 1997 with a BSc hons (2:1) in Biological Science and then began a career in the pharmaceutical industry where I worked in microbiological laboratories and manufacturing areas for 6 years. This gave me a great experience of how science is applied in the real world and I worked with a variety of people with many skills. The role gave me an understanding of the requirements of having a job and I developed many skills such as teamwork, communication, and time management. I realised from training new starters that I wanted to continue this type of job role more and looked at other career options and decided to train to be a secondary science teacher. I have now been teaching for 17 years and have found it to be an extremely rewarding and enjoyable career. I have had many roles at schools where I have worked including Form Tutor, S. T. E. M co-coordinator, Associate Teacher Mentor, Head of Science and Examiner for Edexcel. I have taken part in many curriculum development courses to enhance my teaching practice and have delivered training to other teachers to develop teaching and learning within schools. I read many research articles and listen to podcasts on new pedagogy which I adapt and use within my own teaching, I recognise that showing students how to learn is just as important as delivering curriculum content. I use retrieval practice in all lessons and interleave topics to aid memory recall. I enjoy being creative and use engaging and varied activities in my lessons for example model making of a specialised cells to illustrate their structure or use of web quests for independent learning. I have organised and led workshops, science clubs and educational trips which I recognise is an important way of enriching a child's experience of the subject. I have experience working in a variety of secondary schools and have a detailed knowledge of the new curriculum, examination preparation, behaviour management, SEN and safeguarding. I am currently still teaching within schools and take pride knowing that I deliver high quality teaching which allows the students I teach to reach their potential and make progress. I am also confident using various platforms to deliver lessons online.
