She enjoys teaching others how to play the wide range of brass instruments that can be found in orchestras, brass bands and marching bands. Currently she plays for a local brass band as well as playing in a couple of local orchestras when required.
Although Allison mainly teaches brass instrumental lessons, she does also offer music theory lessons although she does try to include some music theory as part of her practical lessons. At present Allison has a 100% pass rate on all practical exams that her students have taken. Although Allison is happy to help students with music examinations she is also happy to offer lessons to those who just want to learn for fun.
Hello I'm Enfys D., I am passionate for Art and all things creative and I want to help students to strive and achieve past their potential. I am patient, communicative and outgoing with a want to help people. I achieved Grade 9 in GCSE Art and followed on to do a L3 Art and Design Extended Diploma where I achieved triple Distinction*. After completing BTEC, I have had the opportunity to create a mural for my local museum giving me professional commisioned art experience and I am excited to impart all the knowledge I have learnt throughout this process to other creatives. I have previously offered advice to students through social platforms including instagram and tiktok giving them crucial knowledge needed to succeed in their exams/coursework and tutoring is a great next step for me to continue along this path.

In March – April 2020 I completed a TEFL course online (120 hours) with modules on Grammar, methodology, teaching online/via telephone, video observation and teaching large groups. Following this I worked for two years as an English tutor online with EF Tutors. I have also worked on the National Tutoring programme (online) with groups of y5 children who needed help having had their learning interrupted by COVID.
I am a specialist in languages, having studied Russian and Italian at Liverpool University and throughout my teaching career taught English and French. I attained a bachelor degree with honours level 2i. I have the ability to acquire language readily and understand grammatical structures and how they work in English as well as the other languages I have studied. In my teaching career, I was member of the SLT at a highly successful and progressive independent Junior School for 18 years prior to retirement. During this time, I was responsible for developing the programmes of study for English for a number of years and leading the staff development in this subject area.
