Now our girls are getting older I have a little time to spare to help students improve their general science, GCSE science in any science disipine. I am a recent graduate from the University of Oxford and achieved a two one in Geography. At university I wrote weekly essays and numerous pieces of coursework so can offer excellent essay advice. I am also able to offer university application help. I have A*'s in Biology, Geography and History at A level. Due to my exam preparation experience for these as well as for my finals, I can offer brilliant revision teaching. Previous tutoring experience is from Jacari, a charity that provides English as a foreign language tutoring. During the training for this, I was taught how to plan and deliver effective lessons, while the tutoring experience gave me the ability to produce highly tailored lessons. My lessons generally start with an assessment of my tutee's abilities, including any target areas. The following lessons will then generally involve interactive teaching followed by a short exercise and feedback. However, this format is flexible around the needs of the individual.
After University I completed a TEFLA course and went onto teach English to children and teenagers English in Spain, South Africa and Bahrain. I returned to the UK and began working in FE colleges. In 2014, whlist working at Peterborough Regional College as Travel and Tourism lecturer, I completed DTTLS and QTLS and became a fully qualified teacher. I then worked for several years in UK schools teaching mainly GCSE English Language and ESOL. I've now set up as an on-line tutor and I'm looking for new students.

I am an enthusiastic and patient tutor, and have had previous experience tutoring 11+, as well as ancient languages. I have taught 11+ English, Maths, Verbal and Non-verbal reasoning for both the CSSE and CEM exam boards.
As someone who learned both Latin and Ancient Greek ab initio as part of my university degree and is now proficient in both, I feel I am able to confidently teach the skills that enabled me to learn these languages to students of any but the most advanced level. Due to COVID-19, all lessons will be taught online via Skype.
