We open at one centre or another after school on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and on Saturday mornings. There is no fixed arrival time, and students usually drop in once a week (some come twice a week, others as little as once a month).

Length and frequency of lessons are flexible. All ages welcome. I am able to teach students to play any songs or pieces they like and not make them learn any they don’t like. I teach them to play by ear and by notation. I also teach them how to improvise, and speak their mind musically. I have 18 years experience in this line of work, and for 17 years now it has been my full-time occupation. I have studied music at Los Angeles Musicians Institute and Cambridge Anglia Ruskin University. My name is pronounced ‘Dave Montaig’. ‘Deive’ is short for Deiven. Students can choose to learn any or all of the instruments I teach. They do not have to own an instrument to spend part of their lesson learning it. Students do not have to learn to read conventional sheet music. Furthermore, I do not teach it to beginners. I do teach it to those who want to learn it, but only after they have learnt my own ‘RSMR’ notation system. I don’t want to give them an overcomplicated, incorrect view of music that may make them give up. RSMR is the Rational System of Musical Reference, and is not just a notation system; it incorporates a new nomenclature system also. The conventional theory, nomenclature and notation of music contain some serious mistakes. The notation system is overcomplicated, presenting us with a number of things that do not exist in music itself, much of the nomenclature is naming elements of a notation system rather than elements of music itself, and the theory of pitch and the theory of rhythm presented to us do not acknowledge this. Furthermore, much of the notation and nomenclature is imprecise, impractical, inappropriate or misleading, and many of the terms used are given two or more conflicting meanings. Students do unfortunately have to learn much of the conventional nomenclature - because it is so widely used. Many musicians cannot read the notation and do not use it – including many of the world’s most popular musicians – but all musicians use the nomenclature to some extent. All students of pitch-playing instruments should be taught the conventional names of the twelve absolute pitch-tones and all students of chord-playing instruments should be taught the conventional names of the chords, but they should also be taught that these names are bad ones. There is now an enormous library of song notations that are available for free on the web which simply present the lyrics and chord-changes in the song, with the chords indicated simply by name, and every guitarist and keyboardist should learn how to read these; however, they should also learn how those chord-names are far from good ones. I have no problem with beginner guitar and bass students being taught conventional ‘tablature’ notation, and I often give them tabs that have been published on the web. The only difference with my own tablature is that it includes timing details; conventional rhythmic-timing notation is not compatible with guitar tab, but my rhythmic-timing notation is compatible with any system of pitch notation. I do teach ‘grade’ exam courses if requested, and have taught those from the Trinity, ABRSM and Rockschool awarding bodies, but I don’t teach these to an absolute beginner. They present rudimentary music theory as little more than the rules of a bad system of musical reference stated as if it is a good one. I teach the real rudiments of music, and this does not involve introducing such things as the sharp, the flat or the time signature. The sharps, flats and time signatures we are presented with in the notation are elements of notation, not music, and they are in the notation because the notation system is overcomplicated. The sharp and the flat came from the use of a pitch-staff which makes room for only seven of the twelve musical pitch-tones, and the time signature came from using different single note and rest symbols to indicate different rhythmic durations and then allowing them to change which durations they represent. The twelve absolute pitch-tones of the Western musical pitch-tone system should have been given permanent identities, not temporary identities which are dependent on which key or chord they temporarily belong to. And note duration should have been measured in beat-value, not semibreve-value. Semibreves do not exist in music. I came to realise and understand the main mistakes in the theory, nomenclature and notation of music before I ever started teaching, and this was one of the reasons I went into teaching. It caused me to confront these mistakes head on and find the solutions. Some of these solutions had already been proposed by others, and some had not. The staff design I use for keyboard and general-purpose pitch notation has been around for almost two centuries, although I have presented it in a particular way that is unique and improved, but the rhythmic-timing notation system I use with all my students, no matter what the instrument, is entirely of my own invention. I also have invented numerous other music learning aids that translate what we hear into something we can see.

Is maths a mystery? Do you wish you understood ‘why’ as well as ‘how’? If you ask a question, does your teacher give the same explanation again and again? It doesn’t have to be that way. My methods really work; my students increase their mathematical abilities and confidence, and can explain what they’re doing. Some are so excited after my lessons that they can`t wait to tell their parents all about it! Do you wish your child was so inspired by their teacher that they voluntarily did extra maths in order to improve?
If your child has had a difficult time with maths at school, or perhaps you`ve tried other tutors and been disappointed, fear not, there is a better way. In the first lesson, I`ll ask lots of questions to get a picture of what my new student can and can`t yet do, and more importantly, what they understand. I`ll then use that to build a programme for the next few weeks, including any topics that they would like to work on. Often I point out weaknesses that my students haven`t noticed or haven`t realised are holding them back; once we fix these, progress is visible and can be quick.
My planning is completely flexible and is built around my student’s progress and needs, and I use a variety of resources so that we can explore topics in different ways. I am patient and used to explaining concepts in several different ways to find the way that works for each individual. I don’t teach tricks (unless you want me to), I focus on helping students to understand.
What online lessons require and involve
Having online lessons is often something students haven’t considered or perhaps feel daunted by. I’ve taught a number of students online, some exclusively so and some when convenient e.g. when they or I went on holiday. Online lessons also allow me to be more flexible over timings and to offer a lower rate since no travel is involved.
Has your child ever been so excited by their maths lessons that they asked to have one while away on holiday? My students have!
Online lessons require a computer, not necessarily a laptop, internet access and a quiet room.
I carry out lessons on Bitpaper, an online free whiteboard. If students sign up for an account, they can save that whiteboard and come back to it whenever they want. Thus they have ready-made notes after each lesson.
My students can opt to have cameras on or not; I am always happy to follow my students’ lead on this. I know some people prefer to work unseen whereas others like being able to look at my face as we discuss topics. What matters is that my students are comfortable.
I set homework on another website, also free to use, that marks work for me and the student and allows me to focus on giving feedback and correcting misconceptions.

In my lesson, you can speak Japanese as much as you want! Because practice is the key to successful learning and a shortcut to becoming a fluent speaker. Even if you have full knowledge, it could be practically pointless when you cannot use it in a real situation.
I deliver pacey, articulate, and intensive lessons with lots of fun elements. I can customise lessons depending on your goal, interest, and level so that the format will vary. Absolute beginners are also very welcome, too!
Absolute beginner course has about 48 lessons /30 minutes (=24 lessons/ hour). I mainly use my handmade presentation slides created for standardised tests based on the grammar school's curriculum. You can gradually increase vocabularies and practise grammar in an organized way. When you complete this course, you will be able to speak, read, write, and listen to basic Japanese.
I am available before 5pm on weekdays, but this does not always apply to every student. So, please contact me to find out the detail.
Your first lesson is about 20 minutes, which is set for getting to know each other and check your Japanese level.

In the past nine years, I've had the privilege of performing, recording, and writing with some of the best musicians in the London and U.K. scene, such as Kevin Glasgow (one of Europe's best bassists), Robin Banerjee (Amy Winehouse's guitarist), Roberto Manzin (Zucchero), Felipe Martíns (Emeterians), Juan Whist (The Voice National Spanish TV), and many others. I've showcased in most of London's live music venues and with the best U.K. and European entertainment agencies, such as Scarlett Entertainment, Full Stop Entertainment, and more. I have many years teaching experience. I have completed BSc (Honours) in applied accounting from Oxford Brookes University. In addition, I have passed two high profile professional exams (The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants ACCA & Chartered Financial Analyst CFA) in accounting, finance and investment sector.

I teach accountancy, finance, investment, tax & statistics in graduate & post graduate level. In addition, I teach high profile professional exam students for ACCA, ACA, CIMA, AAT, CTA, ATT, CISI, IMC & CFA. I also teach portfolio management, wealth management, corporate finance, financial reporting, quantitative method, equity investment, fixed income, econometrics, alternative investment, risk management, derivatives and foreign exchange. In accountancy, I teach all subjects area which includes financial accounting, financial reporting, corporate reporting, management accounting, performance management, financial management including advanced financial management, audit and assurance, personal taxation, corporate taxation, capital gain tax, value added tax and inheritance tax. Moreover, I also teach GCSE mathematics and A level statistics & accounting and cover all boards syllabus.

I am a well-qualified, service driven, friendly and skilled professional. I thoroughly enjoy teaching students. My teaching style is very effective and efficient. I make the study material to students easy and understandable so that it makes sense to the learners. I provide friendly learning environment. I repeat key concept many times until the students grab it as understanding the key concept is very crucial for passing the exam. I demonstrate how to approach the exam question and answer the question within time limit as time management is another essential factor during the exam. Most of the students who followed my method of learning succeed in the exam. Availability: Weekdays and Weekend. Flexible with days and timing. Rate: The rate advertised in the profile is online rate. Online lesson is cheaper. Minimum rate for meet in person is £60 per hour and could be changed according to the distances. Rate could be changed due to complexity of the subject.
Other information: First lesson is 1 hour. Second and subsequent lesson is minimum 2 hours per session.
