Experienced teacher with a proven track record of successfully supporting students to improve and make progress both at GCSE and A level History. Specialises in US, Korea/Vietnam, Norman England and Migration units at GCSE - former examiner - and Unit 2R Cold War at A level. As lead teacher of the NEA for many years, I can offer expert guidance in completing this section of the AQA A level History course too. Beyond academic excellence, I have a wealth of experience as a teacher adviser for Oxbridge and Medicine courses. I have been a secondary school teacher for 25 years and prior to this have taught in Surrey and North London. I also have experience of examining for the major examination boards at both GCSE and A Level.
I have taught Chemistry at a large Leicestershire 14-18 School for over 30 years. I have been Head of Chemistry at this school for 20 years. I teach AQA GCSE Chemistry and AQA A-Level Chemistry. I have also taught Nuffield A-Level Chemistry. I have tutored AQA, EDEXCEL, OCR and OCR(Salters) A-Level Chemistry and AQA and OCR GCSE Chemistry. I have tutored students outside of school for 26 years with much success. Many of my A-level students have achieved 100% in A-level Chemistry modules and I have tutored many GCSE students who have achieved 100% in all their GCSE modules for GCSE Chemistry. I am also a Principal Examiner for IGCSE Chemistry. I have marked both Foundation and Higher IGCSE Chemistry papers. I have been an Examiner for Singapore A-level Chemistry. Both these roles have helped me to recognise the difficulties that students have with both GCSE and A-level examination questions and the way to answer them successfully. I use this knowledge to the students advantage in my lessons. I tutor online using Skype, Zoom, Teams and FaceTime which works really well. I have had many students who have gone on to study medicine and other medical degrees. I also write multiple choice GCSE Chemistry questions for an exam board.
My approach is variable depending on the ability of the student and what they are struggling on at the time. However I believe that the practicing of past paper questions is vital for examination success. It is the attention to detail which counts in an examination and I make sure all of my students know everything in the syllabus and have practiced lots of different styles of examination question. I tutor online using Skype, Zoom, Teams and FaceTime usually texting, emailing or messaging students examination practice questions which works really well. At the moment all my tutoring is online. I provide examination notes specifically to support different exam boards (AQA, OCR, Edexcel etc). I have been delivering practical investigations for many many years and help young people to analyse these practicals which are now a significant component of the exam board specification.
I am a qualified and passionate primary school teacher. I have experience teaching and tutoring across Key Stage 1 and 2. I love teaching, building positive relationships and making learning fun and accessible to everyone. Every child deserves the best start in life. I provide support across all of primary school across subjects as well as specific support in year 6 SATs, phonics, 11+ entrance exams, and SEN support. I tailor sessions to meet the exact needs. I have taught and tutored children with a range of educational needs such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, processing speed, autism and much more. I am currently studying for my Masters in Education at Leicester University and I am also training to become a specialist Dyslexia teacher. I currently offer sessions outside of school hours. Hello. I am an enthusiastic young person that loves Maths. I have had 7 years of tutoring experience.
I am able to help the students with:

- revise for an exam
- teach areas that the students are not as comfortable with
The first lesson will normally be a test just so that I can see where the students are at. This will help me identify which topics the student is best at and which ones need a little more practice.

My main experience is in KS2 (Years 4, 5 and 6) but am qualified for the whole Primary age range, 5- 11 years. In my experience as a Teacher, I have taught children with Dyslexia, children with Autism, children with Aspergers, children with social and emotional needs and looked after children.
My approach is very child centered. I look at celebrating the positives first and then gradually working through the harder bits, all at the child's pace, with a view to plugging any gaps so the child can celebrate success in their learning.
I teach in many different ways to appeal to the different learning styles (auditory, visual and kinaesthetic) and believe it is important to give the child a meaningful context to their learning (i. e relate it to everyday life).

I wrote my first code at age 13 with Q-BASIC. I built my first complete application which was used by a few organizations at age 19. Since then I have evolved into a cross between a polyglot software engineer, and an IT infrastructure engineer, involved in numerous IT projects up to this moment using modern software engineering design principles, and diverse technologies. As a trained engineer coupled with my ability to relate to people of various socio-cultural backgrounds, I have expertise in training people to become Software Engineers and great computer programmers. My close attention to detail and organizational skills keep me focused on tasks without distractions while managing allocated resources such as time. My research interest includes the following: * Artificial Intelligence * Data Science * Contextual Systems * IoT I am a deep thinker in my private time and when I am not building something, I play the piano and I write poetry.
I have been tutoring individual pupils from a variety of backgrounds and abilities for nearly a decade now. I have also been teaching GCSE, A-Level, and Year 9 history since 2013-14, and have an outstanding track record in terms of results. Approximately 90% of the students I have taught at GCSE level have achieved a 7-9 grade, and I have had pupils achieve places at Oxbridge to read History within the last two years. I have excellent technical knowledge of exam preparation and essay or source paper questions, and am especially familiar with content involving the crusades (1099-1204), Russia 1894-1924, International Relations 1919-1990, and Germany 1918-45. That being said, I am willing to work on content from any time period, and with pupils of any ability or age level. My particular strength lies in the passion that I have for my subject, and my primary aim is to inspire pupils with a love for the subject.
Outside of the classroom I have led or been involved with student trips to Berlin, Russia (Moscow and St. Petersburg), and the battlefields of France and Belgium. I quickly build rapport with pupils and work out gaps in their learning and the best possible way to teach them what they need to know. My pupils range from year 1 pupils who need support with letter formation and phonics to students preparing for their English GCSEs. I love what I do and this motivates my students. They also grow in terms of confidence and independence too!
