Latin, Classical Greek, Classical Civilisation, lessons in Marlborough and Brighton, UK. Happy to teach prep school and secondary school pupils as well as adult learners.
She spends most of her time teaching others how to play the wide range of brass instruments that can be found in orchestras, brass bands and marching bands. For over 30 years she played in the 'Brighton and Hove City Brass' band where she started her musical career. This is not only a profession, but a hobby as well. Sian now plays in a ten piece ensemble 'Brass Fusion' performing with other 'ex bandsmen' on a casual, non-contesting, fun basis.
Although Sian primarily takes brass instrumental lessons, she does regularly run a theory class for all instrumentalists at one of the major schools. She also tries to cover basic theory points within her instrumental lessons as many players, not just brass, do not realise that once they obtain Grade Five practical they cannot move on until they have passed the Grade Five Theory exam. This can take quite a while if players have not covered any theory at all during their lessons. At present Sian has a 100% pass rate on all practical exams that her current students have taken.
Another string to her bow (!) is that she has run several recorder groups at one school as well as temporarily taking Year One music appreciation classes for a term. She also currently runs two brass ensembles at one of the major schools. Sian strives to help pupils obtain their graded examinations but at the same time keeping the playing fun and non pressured. The most important thing to her is that her pupils continue to enjoy playing and for it not to become a chore. To assist with the enjoyment of playing Sian runs a training band for anyone wishing to gain experience in group playing. All the terminology, harmony, sounds etc which are not experienced with individual lessons. The playing of 'non tune' parts where counting and listening are essential.
Sian is also Musical Director of one of the southern England's brass bands, where she regularly appears with them at local fetes, concerts, and garden parties. She is also a committee member for the Incorporated Society of Musicians.
I have been teaching French and Spanish for over 25 years, in secondary schools, adult education courses and business companies. I have also implemented and developed a Latin GCSE course in my local school, which has been thriving for 25 years. I am experienced in teaching all levels up to advanced for French and A'level for Spanish and Latin.
I welcome learners from all academic and cultural backgrounds, all ages and abilities; I am just keen to share my linguistic skills!
I have taught Italian for the past 16 years and gained further experience in Classroom teaching, One to One and more specific topics. I have taught italian for the Surrey Adult Education to classes from beginners to advanced including conversation workshops. I am also Freelance, Teaching private group and individual courses at various levels for both general and business purposes. Graduated in Literature and Philosophy I hold a degree in Oriental Languages and Cultures and also a qualification in Italian Language Teaching from the University of Bergamo. Teaching is a creative job and this is why I enjoy it so much. It is very important to me to prepare my lessons carefully and make them interesting, dynamic, fun and of course tailored to the needs of each of my students. I like to use a variety of teaching materials such as grammar book, books in Italian, Italian songs, games, videos, puzzles. I like talking about music, art, books, currents events and more to make the conversation interesting and full of new informations. Is also very important to me put into practice all the grammar learned and do conversation; practise is essential. I like to prepare my own material and exercises following the topics. I always make sure students feel confident about their skills and their ability to speak Italian. Learning new languages opens the mind to new cultures and and keeps young.

If you are completely new to music, the piano/keyboard (or the drums) is the best place to start. The layout of the keyboard forms the basis for our understanding of harmony and theory, without which, learners of instruments (other than drums) will be at a significant disadvantage.

My name is Sofía Borrego Morena and I was born in Andalusia, South of Spain; although I was living in Torroella de Montgrí, in Catalonia, for ages. Torroella is a cultural village with a huge historical past in the middle of the Costa Brava.
I am the youngest of four sisters which two of them are living in England nowadays. Moreover, I have got a son, Arnau, he is studying at Barcelona’s University. He is smarter than me and I feel very proud of him.
I studied Art History at the University of Girona. I used to be art reviewer and now I am looking for a permanent position as a teacher. My master degree and other qualifications permit me to teach some languages as: Spanish, Catalan, French and English for foreigners. I have been teaching languages for students and adults for more than 3 years. In UK, I have been teaching Spanish and French to KS3 and KS4, and I am capable to teach Spanish in KS5.
My students are a bit different than me, when I used to go to Secondary School, same problems but dissimilar behaviours. I found them very active and with clearer ideas that I used to have. For this reason, I try to training hard and catch up about all the new ways to approach to teach.

Hello, I am the main carer for my children at the moment. But I am a trained teacher with a PhD in physics. I have been teaching for over 12 years. I am available from 5pm every day and on the weekend. I mainly tutor online.
Maths might seem tough and boring at times, but that’s only because you haven’t found the right way to approach it yet! With the right techniques, it becomes much easier and even fun. Now, I won’t say every part of maths is fun, but trust me, some of it can be pretty exciting! Give it a try, and I’ll do my best to make it simple, engaging, and maybe even something you enjoy!
