About the Lesson
I offer one, one and a half, and two-hour lessons, using questioning techniques to encourage deeper thinking and help students achieve top grades in English. My experience includes teaching a wide range of texts such as Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing, The Sign of the Four, A Christmas Carol, An Inspector Calls, and poetry from the Power and Conflict and Love and Relationships anthologies. I have also served as an examiner, marking AQA English Literature Paper 2, and will be marking Language Paper 1 this year.
About Me
I adore engaging with young people about the texts they are studying and aim to help you unlock your potential in English. With a passion for my subject and experience teaching AQA English Literature and Language at GCSE level, I am committed to helping students succeed. I pride myself on my ability to identify and solve students' difficulties, helping them to 'get unstuck' and teaching them the skills they need to become independent and enthusiastic learners. No matter your starting point, I can meet you where you are at and get you where you want to be. I am used to using a variety of approaches depending on class size (individual or small group), student age, and the goals of the student. My focus is on helping my students to understand the learning process, so that they can ask the right questions and take charge of their own learning. I will provide you with resources and guidance to help you practise independently so that you can build on the progress you make in your lessons with me. I have a thorough knowledge of several exam syllabuses and can teach you the techniques you need to do well in exams, but I also want to help you set your own targets and have fun with your learning!

I have 30 years of experience as a teacher in international schools and UK schools.

My claim to fame is that I have trained almost 1,000 laughter professionals in the UK and have been leading over 1,000 corporate workshops.
Those are just numbers and not really a true reflection of how awesome this work is because in the bigger scheme of things they are disappearingly small considering the number of people in the UK and the number of workplaces, too. However, my work ethics, my passion, compassion, integrity and genuine wish to help people find peace through laughter makes me humble and grateful for every opportunity.
My experience in working with businesses and organisation relates back to almost 20 years of working in the IT sector in technical support, sales, marketing, and management before beginning my laughter journey. I think back to the stress and competitiveness in the various workplaces, but also the friendship and good times with gratitude. This is the foundation for my professionalism and understanding of how laughter-based activities and tools can have an effect on stress and teamwork.
From early years in the laughter sector I started teaching and became the only Laughter Yoga Master Trainer in the UK in 2012.
I have played and continue to play a key role in the development of laughter-based activities, training, workshops, organisation, and people in the UK, and you can trust me with your staff at any point in time.
My promise is working together to improve individual and team health, spirit, joy and happiness levels both personally and professionally.
