Miss Gemma's love for dance started at an early age. She started attending regular dance classes from the age of 2 and before long was taking classes 5 nights a week and all day Saturdays. She became an assistant teacher at 14 and gained her first teaching qualification aged 16yrs.
She became fully qualified at 18 whilst she was studying for her A-levels. She continued to further her dance teaching qualifications and studied at Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama gaining qualifications with the IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association) alongside completing her degree in 'Sports Studies and Physical Education' at the University of Worcester. During her time at university Miss Gemma was the founder and Chairperson of the 'Dance Society'
for three years. Throughout her degree it became more apparent that her true passion was to teach and she specifically enjoyed combining the knowledge of her degree into her dance teaching practice.
After opening the Academy and teaching for several years Miss Gemma continued her studies with the Royal Academy of Dance and gained RAD RTS (Registered Teachers Status). Miss Gemma is a fully qualified teacher with the RAD (Royal Academy of Dance), I. D. T. A (International dance Teachers Association) and is able to enter students for exams in all dance genres offered at the Academy. The Academy has a 100% pass rate and Miss Gemma also trains students/teachers for professional level teaching examinations with fantastic results. She is also a teaching member of many other dance organisations including the N. A. T. D (National Association of Teachers of Dancing) and I. S. T. D (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing). Gemma is also qualified to enter students for examinations with these associations.
Throughout her dance life Miss Gemma has performed in many shows, festivals and competitions. She has enjoyed regular appearances at Malvern Theatres including roles in 'There's No Business Like Show Business', 'Memory Lane', 'Snow White' and many more. She has also performed lead dance roles at the 'Swan Theatre', 'Roses Theatre' and 'Hippodrome' in pantomimes including 'Dick Whittington', 'Cinderella' and 'Peter Pan'. After taking a break from competing whilst at university, Gemma still had the desire to perform. More recently she has competed at the Nationals (Telford, 2013), Southern Class (Eastborne, 2014), Bring it On (Paris, 2015), Spring Sensation (Worcester, 2016). She also regularly appeared on the pitch at Sixways performing with her 'Cheer Elite' team who provided pre-match and half time entertainment for Worcester Warriors Matches. Miss Gemma also enjoys performing in the Magical Disneyland Parade in Paris with her students annually and she performed in Los Angeles in 2017 with her senior students on the Main Stage in Disneyland California.
Miss Gemma's experience of teaching is wide ranging, she has taught BTEC Level 2 and 3 at Hanley Castle High School, The Chase School, Pershore High School and John Masefield High School. She has also taught in many educational establishments including primary, middle and secondary schools, colleges and local universities. Miss Gemma has also worked with a wide range of young people within the community from teaching after school clubs to providing tuition at local groups which include children and adults with special needs and disabilities.
In 2010 Miss Gemma opened the 'Dance in Motion Academy' allowing her to provide professional facilities for all of her students. Since this time Miss Gemma she has trained many students to complete examinations, perform in shows and compete in National and International competitions. More recently she is very privileged to have trained students to represent 'TEAM ENGLAND' in Vienna at the ECU Championships. In 2017/2018 Miss Gemma was very honoured to have been selected as the Head Dance Technique Coach for Team England Pom who competed at the ICU championships in Florida.
Miss Gemma is very thankful to all who have helped her achieve her dreams including her family, teachers, students and parents. She wants every student to enjoy dancing and will strive to provide a safe, friendly and professional environment for all.
Miss Gemma believes every student is a true star!

Every student has different abilities and learns the best in different ways, so my tutoring structure will reflect that. I believe that to unlock a students potential, you must be flexible with the way you teach. I tailor my style to suit the students and parents needs and wishes and give the most effective tutoring possible. If a student or parent comes to me with known weak spots, I can plan lessons around that and introduce questions to test progress. However, if a weak spot is unknown as in a lot of cases, I can be there to support with weekly homework or even fish out those areas to improve on myself with quizzes.
I am big on students having confidence in their ability, so I will make sure they know how they are improving and what exactly they are achieving. I have experience working towards KS2 SATs , Cognitive Ability Maths Tests, GCSE and iGCSE, Entry Level Maths and Level 1-2 Numeracy ( usually completed at college). I have worked with children and adults with low confidence, a range of additional needs and mathematics anxiety. I am happy to tutor online or in person and am willing to provide shorter sessions for younger students (priced accordingly)
I look forward to helping you progress in you ability and confidence in mathematics.

I am a fully qualified secondary school teacher specialising in Science and Maths. I have extensive teaching and tutoring experience, in schools and online, in both mainstream teaching and special educational needs teaching. I have successfully taught and tutored pupils for 11 plus and 13 plus entrance exams, as well as for GCSE's in both Maths and Sciences, and for A level Biology and Chemistry.
I have always had alot of success tutoring science and maths online, with all pupils gaining the grades they wanted, and in most cases even higher grades.
I have also 12 years GCSE Science examiner marking experience, which allows me to explain to pupils what examiners are looking for within exam question answers.
I use a variety of course materials, workbooks and textbooks which are matched to the current relevant syllabus that the pupil is studying at their school. In addition I adapt my teaching methods to support the pupils learning needs and help to identify areas of study in which they need help to improve. I also look at revision methods and planning revision timetables with pupils to help them find the option which works best for their learning needs.

I have been tutoring since 2012 and have tutored over 1000 hours of maths, science, Law and English language. I have a PGCE and work as a full time maths and physics teacher in an OFSTED outstanding secondary school near Hereford. I have recently been turoing many A level maths and physics students as well as university level Law students.
Please see below the latest feedback I received from a lesson observation of an online 1:1 lesson.
Tom taught a lesson on quadratic sequences. He started by establishing the student’s confidence on the subject and then shared his screen to display a well prepared series of whiteboard slides. The student was asked to identify the relationship between a series of numbers leading to establishing the nth term. These initial sequences provided the base for the future slides, which contained further, more complex sequences for the student to solve. At each stage, Tom encouraged the student to break down the workings to ensure errors were avoided – he then annotated the whiteboard accordingly. Tom’s manner was easy going and relaxed. The student was actively involved throughout and, to quote Tom ‘did most of the work’ is a very positive way. This allowed for Tom to constantly assess and pitch to the level required. Tom was able to self assess well and commented that, if he were to the lesson again, he would have included more simple questions to start to build up confidence before going on to more complex sequences. Overall a really positive lesson, with a personable and approachable tutor.

I started my teaching career working in an inner city Birmingham school and have since moved to a school in Stourbridge closer to home.
I have been head of Geography for the last 3 years and in my second year of completing a leadership course that I will finish July 2019.
I have recently started tutoring a local student this year, which has been more enjoyable and beneficial to both her and I, that I have decided to do more of the same.
As I still work full time I can only accommodate evening and weekend tutees.
