P
My name is Anisa and I'm a Mathematics undergraduate student at Durham University. Once an intimidated student who grimaced at the subject, I've learnt ways to approach mathematics that allow me to appreciate the logic behind it. Maths doesn't have to be the 'difficult subject' and I'm here to show you and your child that.
My journey in tutoring mathematics has been nothing short of diverse. As someone who wants to share the joy from problem solving and who relishes in seeing their students thrive, there has never been a point in my life where I haven't been involved in tutoring of some form. From the age of 16, through volunteering opportunities and work, I’ve tutored in all sorts of environments - from after school classes and targeted group work to online one-to-one tutoring. My plethora of experience can be viewed in my CV which you can request to see.
My teaching style centres around seamless integration between the classroom and tuition. A core belief of mine is that tutoring can only be as effective as it's organisation, so I go the extra mile to understand what is missing in students' education through communication with their Maths teachers. This has been a tried and proven fact and it guarantees that what students learn outside of school hours perfectly aligns with classroom teaching, which boosts progress by up to 5 months! Furthermore, I love to involve themes of encouragement and independent thinking by carefully crafting questions that allow students to arrive at their own conclusions; this preserves the learning of concepts to ensure they are well consolidated rather than memorised and repeated.
For your child to get a feel for my teaching style, please do book a trial session. Let’s get stuck in and see your child soar through school!

I'm currently an undergrad at Newcastle University, studying the Classics. My passion is for Doctor Who and almost anything to do with classic sci-fi and horror. I'm autistic, diagnosed since the age of 14, and so I have many experiences with other autistics and I frequently helped out with the Special Educational Needs department at my high school/sixth form. I'm a published author of horror short stories, as well as having featured on panels at FantasyCon and SciFi Weekend, with more stuff in the works. My subjects at A-Level were English Lit. (AQA), Theatre Studies (Edexcel), and Religious Studies (OCR). My high school had an internal mentoring scheme, where I helped 2 GCSE students with their English, the skills for which help with Latin and Greek immensely. For Ancient Greek, I taught a GCSE student from scratch for about 2 years, and as such created resources from scratch and would adjust my lessons on a weekly basis. For Latin, I helped the same student on a regular basis with their Latin, but at A-Level I was also asked by my Head of Classics to help the Y8s who'd joined late in the term by taking them out of lessons and catching them up on thr basic Latin skills they'd have missed. At university, I mentored 5 different students in GCSE English literature on a weekly basis, across a wide variety of texts. Additionally, my love for Classical languages and English extended to me doing JACT's Durham Summer School between L6 and U6. That, apart from being an enjoyable time in itself and which is highly recommendable, exposed me to a lot of different teaching styles, and gave me great in-depth knowledge of the languages and the culture.

I like to try to keep my lessons fun, and I teach theory alongside the violin - they help each other! I have a 100% exam pass rate with my students, but you don't need to enter exams to learn!

I am an academic by profession and I have been a personal tutor for 8 years on various website including online and in person. My goal is to share my knowledge with people of all age groups who are interested in learning a foreign language and humanities subjects either for personal exams or just for fun. I also aim to make my lessons as enjoyable as possible not just for the sake of breaking the "monotony" of classroom style teaching, but also because I want to engage with my tutees in order to help them achieve their best results in the most efficient way possible. Plus, I personally believe that everyone is competent and capable of learning any subject or language as long as the relationship between tutors and students are on the same page, and the lessons are made to be more engaging and reachable. For further details, do not hesitate to write a message to me. I look forward to your messages and queries! :)

I am an Associate Professor of Political Science and currently a UK Global Talent endorsed by the British Academy, London. Tutoring, for me, goes beyond regurgitating ideas; it includes motivating and inspiring students to be the best versions of themselves. I use practical and participatory pedagogy; the student is at the center of tutoring. Breaking down concepts and principles, I teach to maintain interest and attention span of my students. I often prefer maximum of 2 hours at a time.

I studied Physics (BSc) and have been working in the education sector for the past nineteen years as a science teacher, administrator, supervisor, and quality assurance officer. I worked at Luther King’s College of Science, Ileogbo, Nigeria for 10 years as a Physics teacher. I also served as the school registrar, the football coach, and the head of examinations. I then moved to Osun state Central Education District Office Ila-Orangun, Nigeria working as an education administrator. I remained in this role for 5 years where I had hands-on experience in schools administration, allocation of teachers to school and subjects, monitoring and evaluation, preparation and presentation of the district education budget to the state government, and day-to-day administrative work.
I then served as the Head of Schools Services at Obokun Local Education Authority for the Osun State Universal Basic Education Board. My duty includes but is not limited to supervision and monitoring of the teaching and learning process, facilitating training and retraining of the school teachers, and preparation of the termly report of activities. I was also involved in the quality assurance activities of the Universal Basic Education Board in Nigeria for about two years.
Over the past ten years, I have attended several programs and training that I believe qualify me for the position. In the year 2010, I completed my Post Graduate Diploma in Education with the National Teachers’ Institute, Kaduna, Nigeria. In the year 2011, I was a participant at the Skill ‘G’ Training on the use of modern methods in the teaching of Science subjects including Physics. The training involves the use of Lab-less Kits in the teaching of simple concepts such as motion, force, energy, and electricity. I have attended a lot of conferences and workshops on how to improve teaching, communication, and management. I attended a 2-week workshop, organized by the Universal Basic Education Board, Abuja Nigeria on the roles and responsibilities of a good quality assurance officer in 2021. Other training attended are as written in my CV.
I am enrolled for a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (Secondary Physics) at the University of Sunderland, United Kingdom. I am undergoing my teacher training placement, a basic requirement for the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), at East Durham College. I am based in the ENGAGE section that focuses on students aged 14-16 who are not benefitting or progressing within a mainstream school setting and are at risk of permanent exclusion.
I have good communication skills and am also a versatile team player who strongly believes that goals are better and easily achieved together as a team. I am adaptable and flexible. I am diligent, hardworking, and I thrive under pressure.
I believe that my experience and professional training over the years, as well as the support I would be getting from colleagues in the school knowledge, would make me excel in the role of a science teacher in your school.
Yours Sincerely,
Adesoji A. A.

Kay is one of the top practitioners of Belly Dance in the UK. She runs classes in the North East, and teaches workshops around the UK.
Kay imports and sells Belly Dance costumes and takes groups interested in Belly Dance to Cairo. Belly dancing, also known as Oriental dance or Raqs Sharqi, is a mesmerising form of movement and self-expression that has captivated audiences for centuries. Originating in the Middle East, this ancient art form combines graceful and intricate movements of the hips, torso, arms, and hands, creating a sensuous and enchanting spectacle. The dancer's body becomes an instrument, responding to the rhythm and melody of the music with undulating waves, shimmies, and isolations. With its rich cultural heritage and deep connection to storytelling and emotions, belly dancing transports both the performer and the audience to a realm of beauty, grace, and captivating allure.

I'm a French native and have been living in England for the past seven years. While I'm now fluent in both French and English, there was definitely a time when getting to grips with English was quite a challenge! I studied French literature at university before going on to complete a PhD in Theology at Durhan university. Teaching is a real passion of mine, and I’m truly dedicated to helping others succeed and enjoy their learning experience as much as possible.
