I completed a level 3 Diploma in supporting teaching and learning and secured a job as a Teaching Assistant over 11 years ago. I then went on to become a Higher Level Teaching Assistant and was responsible for covering whole class teaching. Whilst working in school full time, I completed an Early Years Degree at Warwick University. This enabled me to complete a PGCE with QTS at Coventry University and achieve my goal of becoming a qualified primary school teacher. I have worked across all year groups, currently teaching in year 5. I have a passion for supporting children and watching them engage with the process of learning, rather than focussing on one outcome. I pride myself on having high expectations for every child and helping them achieve new goals through enjoyment for learning.

I am a highly self-motivated, focused and disciplined individual who finds it easy to get along with people of different ages and cultures. A confident and hardworking person who believes in values such as responsibility, rapport and honesty. I am currently a primary school teacher on supply which includes visiting different schools. This allows me to gain more experience as a teacher and develop a range of skills such as being more organised, managing behaviour effectively and learning about the importance of policies and procedures.

As a poet and creative writer, I use my skills to support my students' engagement in literacy, improve their reading and writing and find their enjoyment and self-expression in English. I also hold a first class degree in Psychology with Cognitive Neuroscience and am very happy to work with Psychology students to develop essay writing, psychological theory and statistics/research skills.
I can offer sessions based on phonetics, spelling, reading and writing, focusing on the student's particular needs and using their interests to engage them.
Alternatively for older children, children who have a particular interest in writing and for adults, I can offer bespoke sessions on creative writing and poetry. These sessions will improve the student's confidence, encourage self-expression and develop them into a creative and skilled writer.
I have worked with children and young people for 7 years in paid and volunteering roles, leading and facilitating workshops to develop English and creative skills. I have a lot of experience in a range of learning disabilities, both with children and adults. Sessions can be adapted for students with visual impairments, hard of hearing students, non-verbal students, and students with emotional disturbance or challenging behaviour. I will get to know them, their strengths and their needs, and offer sessions which work in accordance. I'm also experienced in Makaton and semi-experienced in BSL.
I hold an Enhanced DBS check and positive handling training for working with children with challenging behaviour.

I hold a (BA(hons) in music and a PGCE with an enhanced DBS. I have been teaching classroom music for 23 years to reception children all the way through to A-level. I can support with GCSE, BTEC and RSL examinations; listening, performance, composition, production and DAW training. With a piano teaching diploma from the London College of music and 27 years of teaching privately and performingin a variety of classical and popular ensembles I can also offer piano and keyboard lessons. You may choose to follow a formal pathway following the ABRSM, Trinity or RSL piano or keyboard grades 1-8 or learn through popular music, chords and harmony or even jazz. As a keyboard player perhaps you want to learn how to arrange keyboard parts for a covers band or sound synthesis and programming. I have no formal skills as a drummer but can deliver the RSL Debut to Grade 5 examinations. Lessons can be delivered online or face to face in my purpose built studio.

Subjects include English, Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Physics for primary and secondary, GCSE and A-levels students, and engineering-related courses in addition to the previously listed subjects for undergraduates. I have had experience as a one-to-one and group tutor with science and engineering students studying for a School, GCSE, A-levels and undergraduate degrees and preparing them for their tests and final exams.
My experience as a tutor has helped me realize how important it is to make learning both interesting and relevant to the pupil. With previous tutees, I have used traditional and e-learning methods of learning together with games, projects, research, craft, investigative work and quizzes in order to make learning more enjoyable. I also have access to past examination papers and questions which are ideal in preparing pupils for the end of key stage tests.

Due to my strong care towards my studies I have learned not only how to be a good student, but also, a good teacher. I have experience being a tutor. I gave Spanish and Mathematics classes to a Korean boy in my community that had learning difficulties for a year, and I also helped a girl in my neighborhood with her primary school classes such as English, Biology, and Chemistry. I am willing to help anyone that is looking for a tutor in the subjects stated. I take a lot of care in to encouraging my students to not give up when something is being challenging but to instead work harder to acheive it.
