I have been teaching Spanish for over 20 years at secondary level; I am currently Subject Leader for Spanish at my current school and I have a wealth of experience preparing students for GCSE and A level examinations. I am also an examiner for two major exam boards with in depth knowledge of the A level and GCSE curriculums. I have also been a tutor and a teacher for Adult learners as well as teaching Spanish at University level (Durham University) for 3 years.

I am a Second Year Student at the University of York studying BA Modern Languages with experience tutoring in French and Spanish for secondary-age students. Having only recently achieved A*A*A* at A Level, as well as GCSEs in French Spanish and Italian all at Grade 9, I have a wealth of in depth knowledge not only of languages and language learning, but also of the nature of the GCSE and A Level exams. I have a wide variety of revision techniques/resources applicable to the current exam system, and am able to provide tuition focusing on both written and oral exams.
In my experience, tuition coming from a young person to another young person is extremely effective, and provides the student with a strong feeling of support as well as boosting confidence; many young people find aspects of the exams such as the oral exam very daunting, and often dread practising it particularly when they do not feel supported and confident with the person with which they are practising. I create an environment in which the student feels safe and capable to practise without fear of judgment. As well as exam preparation, I can aid with homework and general topics of difficulty.

I have lived in the UK for the past 12 and I have been teaching here since 2016, however I have been working in Spain and other places in the world, for more than 10 years as a tutor and also as a translator. I have vast experience with GCSE and A Levels , DELE , AQA, Cervantes, Oxford and Cambridge as well as B levels and C levels. Can tutor in most subjects. I'm a friendly tutor and love working with children. All children learn in different ways with different methods and i adapt my tutoring for each child to make them enjoy the classes and get the most out of the 60 minutes. I've taught ages from 4 all the way up to 24. I graduated from University of Leeds in May 2022, getting a 2:1 in Biology, and have worked as a supply teacher in schools all around Leeds since Janurary. I started my full time teaching position after completing a PGCE in Secondary Science, i work at Allerton Grange in Alwoodley. I enjoy teaching A level as well as IB, I specialise in Biology and really strive for my GCSE students to obtain 9’s in Triple Higher Biology. I teach all Triple and Combined curriculums as well as Spanish and French (as I am multi lingual). In my first year of teaching my Year 11 pupils jumped up 2 grades from a 6 in Higher Biology to an 8. I pride myself on being adaptive, compassionate but firm with my exam techniques.
I'm very understanding of different situations and backgrounds children can come from, and adjust teaching materials to fit each individual. I can help with homework and if they need extra help with worksheets i can find some for the right module and topic. Hello! I'm Irene www.*** I'm a graduated Classical Pianist and Spanish Philologist, now studying a Master in University of York and Università di Bologna. I am really passionate about teaching, I've had years of experience in it. I am willing to give either Spanish language lessons (Bachelor certificate in Philology) and prepare exams, as well as Piano and Music Theory for every level. I also prepare ABRSM and other official exams. The lessons will just be ONLINE from the UK, as I moved out.
