I am a qualified French and Spanish secondary school teacher with experience teaching at KS3, GCSE and A Level, across a variety of ability sets. I also have experience working in primary schools as a foreign languages specialist and teaching English as a foriegn language to adults. I am passionate about languages and enthusiastic to spread my love of French and Spanish. Whether your child needs help with school work, requires some extra support in the run up to their GCSEs or you are simply looking to learn another language in your free time, I will ensure I tailor our sessions to meet your needs.
Passionate about languages and teaching I have extended knowledge and expertise in the techniques of tutoring and helping each learner teacher their individual goal through adapting my teaching to their learning style and need. Very patient and compassionate I pay attention to the difficulties and accompanies through learning by varying styles and techniques.
I did my PGCE in German with French which involved the usual two teaching practices. I completed these in two comprehensive schools. Since gaining QTS in my first teaching job in 2005, I have taught German, French and Spanish in three secondary schools, all at Keystages 3, 4 and 5. I am currently employed teaching all three of these languages in an independent school.
I believe that, in the drive to raise pupil confidence in speaking and general communication, there has been a decline in rigorous grammar teaching. My feeling is that knowing the grammatical foundations of a language well, in the long run, provides a basis upon which to build and therefore facilitates more confident and accurate communication. I try to strike a balance between sound reinforcement of the fundamentals whilst nurturing curiosity in the learner to try things out, manipulating language across contexts. With German in particular I like to offer an insight into the culture of the country and my time living in Germany enables me to bring the language "out of the page". I really enjoy teaching and like to engage my pupils so that they feel comfortable to ask questions. I also inject a little humour into my delivery, which has enhanced my teaching and boosted relationships. Mine is a safe place for learners to develop.

My name is Sofía Borrego Morena and I was born in Andalusia, South of Spain; although I was living in Torroella de Montgrí, in Catalonia, for ages. Torroella is a cultural village with a huge historical past in the middle of the Costa Brava.
I am the youngest of four sisters which two of them are living in England nowadays. Moreover, I have got a son, Arnau, he is studying at Barcelona’s University. He is smarter than me and I feel very proud of him.
I studied Art History at the University of Girona. I used to be art reviewer and now I am looking for a permanent position as a teacher. My master degree and other qualifications permit me to teach some languages as: Spanish, Catalan, French and English for foreigners. I have been teaching languages for students and adults for more than 3 years. In UK, I have been teaching Spanish and French to KS3 and KS4, and I am capable to teach Spanish in KS5.
My students are a bit different than me, when I used to go to Secondary School, same problems but dissimilar behaviours. I found them very active and with clearer ideas that I used to have. For this reason, I try to training hard and catch up about all the new ways to approach to teach.
