Hi - I'm Nic S. and I've dedicated most of my life to music. If you're passionate about music, I'd really love to help you improve your skills, and develop your creativity. My first instrument (Which I've studied to degree level) is guitar, and I consider this instrument my 'Home base'. Music is more than just 'playing guitar' though, so I'm also open to teaching music theory, composition, songwriting, production, engineering as well as mixing and mastering. I don't work to a curriculum, and I don't teach grades (Unless it's what a student wants). Whatever you're struggling with is what we'll focus on, and the music that excites you is the music we'll be learning about! I'm here to teach you, for you. Despite having an academic background, I really feel like music is for everyone, and whatever helps you achieve your goals matters more to me than if you know 'standard theory' or things like that. Feel free to get in touch and we can set up a call where I can get to know your musical interests and needs, and you can decide if you'd think I'd be a good tutor for you! :)

Hi! I'm Iona www.*** I teach online (Zoom) and in South East London. I offer lessons in: - Folk/Pop/Rock Violin - Logic/Ableton Music Production - Songwriting, Composition, and Film Scoring I also offer support with: - Music Theory and Music Reading - GCSE, A Level and BTEC music/music technology exam VIOLIN LESSONS: My violin lessons are for anyone, no matter how young or old, who wants to learn to play the violin within the context of folk, pop, or rock. We will look at classical violin technique to ensure safety whilst playing, as well as how to read music and music theory. We will look at folk, pop, or rock repertoire, and at the techniques that can be used to make these genres come alive on the violin. MUSIC PRODUCTION LESSONS: At its simplest, music production is the careful creative process of capturing and showcasing the raw recordings of a track, arranging them in the sonic sphere in such a way that a listener can truly connect with the artist's intention. More complexly, it can build an intriguing world of sound around the core songwriting/compositional elements. I teach my students how to use music production software and how to put sounds together, leading through to creating fully recorded, produced, mixed and mastered music projects. COMPOSITION/SONGWRITING/FILM SCORING LESSONS: Have you ever wanted to write your own pieces of music? Are you looking for feedback on your work? My lessons are for anyone who wants to study the art of songwriting, composition, or film scoring. Sessions will be presented in a supportive way through constructive discussion, practical tasks, worksheets, and writing sessions.

I am an experienced tutor with 10+ years of hands-on professional and academic music experience. The bespoke and personalised music classes that I offer can benefit students of all levels and ages, whatever your goals and ambitions are. I work with my students depending on their individual interests, pushing for the best sound and creations in each area with bespoke lesson plans and approaches. "My 12 year old daughter wanted to learn music production. Being Windows based we went down the Ableton live route (Industry standard). I had no idea about the software at all. We came across Iona whom was "local". Her in depth knowledge of Ableton and her strong music background have been a perfect fit for tuition. My daughter has a weekly 1 hour lesson via zoom and has progressed with basic setup to compiling beats and working towards songs. She has covered midi, instrument selection and use of microphone. I am Marty, I am the Owner/Director and one of the tutors at Double M Studios.
I decided to launch DMS due to the passion I have for music and to make it a platform to be able to offer opportunities to students and adult learners that they may not be able to get anywhere else.
Music has been part of my life for a very long time. I was lucky enough to have two of the most amazing guitar tutors that anybody could have asked for. One of which became a very big inspiration for what I am doing now.
