Science Clinic Private Tutors was founded in 2010. Our vision was to help struggling children understand the concepts of the major subjects which are sought after by many colleges & universities. Our tutoring was mainly in the main subjects (Maths, all 3 Sciences & English Language) to exam students only. Because of the huge demand of tutoring in all year groups, we now teach students across the board from Primary (KS1 & KS2) through to GCSE, A-level and University. We were luck to have had colleagues we share the same vision with join us. Now we can teach all subjects from Primary through to GCSE, College /A-levels and Science & Maths at University level. All our teachers / tutors are graduates and qualified teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) who understand the National Curriculum. Some of them are examiners at GCSE and A-level, which means they know the exam techniques students need to answer the exam questions properly and get better grades. Within the team, we have professionals with very high qualifications ie Masters Degrees (MSc / MA) and PhDs in various subjects. We can, therefore, be confident to say we are professionals who are dedicated to what we do with proven records in the UK’s most entrance and national exams. We are a tutoring organisation that is defined by its professionalism. Our aim is to provide a personal service. This makes us very different from most tutoring companies that just offer a platform for tutors and students to meet. We speak to clients so that we can match them with the most appropriate tutor for their needs. When this happens, the results can be remarkable & confidence grows. We personally know all our tutors and all have had DBS checks and their qualifications checked before we take them on. We are also a member of The Tutors’ Association (TTA) which was formed in 2013 to provide standards to the tutoring industry.

My Psychology degree and 9 years of experience working with children with Neuro-divergence and additional educational needs prior to teaching have significantly shaped my approach to teaching.
I prioritise relationship building and trust with students and their caregivers.
I am patient, kind, and incredibly encouraging but have high expectations. I work with students for them to also gain high expectations in themselves. This may happen in the first few sessions or may take a longer period of time depending on the student.
I help students gain high expectations for themselves by initially giving tasks where they are guaranteed success, then celebrating and reflecting on this success and how they were able to use the skills taught and their effort to complete the task. This builds a persons confidence and significantly increases the likelihood of attempting more difficult tasks. This is heavily proven by research (and seen in my classroom daily) known as the “theory of self efficacy” and the “theory of planned behaviour”.
If a person does not believe a task is within their capability, they are incredibly unlikely to even attempt it (No matter how much we believe they can do it).
It is my job to SHOW students they can do it by designing tasks and lessons in a way that they feel challenged finish with pride in their achievements.
When teaching new skills I will show them first, then we will complete a task together, then they will apply the skills independently. I will be constantly assessing as they work independently and provide support where necessary. The ultimate goal is to phase back my support until they are using the taught skills correctly, consistently, confidently and independently.
Lessons will vary depending on students needs. If caregivers want to spend a percentage of the lesson to discuss, that will be agreed upon. If there are specific targets you want me to cover then we can dedicate time for you to tell me these expectations. If you would prefer me to assess your student and gage where the gaps are and plan accordingly, that is also ok.
I would suggest an initial session to meet, and discuss goals.
Some classes you may benefit from:
-SATs Prep
-Phonics
-Reading (comprehension, vocabulary, inferencing, predictions, explaining, retrieval, sequencing, summarising, making links, authors intent)
-Spelling
-Grammar (or Spelling and grammar combined)
-Maths
-Maths (arithmetic)
-Maths (Reasoning and Problem solving)
-Target specific - has your teacher said there are targets you need to work on in various subjects?
-Science
-History
-Geography
-Psychology (GCSE, A Level)
Is your child in secondary school but needs support in the foundation subjects such as reading, writing or maths?
Reading and writing is an essential skills in secondary school for every subject. I can support your child to close the gap so they can access all subjects with their peers. Having worked in secondary schools before, I have seen how much students are required to read and write in all lessons, but there will not be opportunities to learn these fundamental skills at school.
I welcome students of all ages (including adults) from all backgrounds and of all abilities.
I look forward to meeting you soon and celebrating the amazing progress ahead!

Hi! Welcome to my page!
Who am I? My name is Devinder and I'm a friendly, encouraging, online tutor. I absolutely love teaching and I hope you will be interested in the academic services I have to offer. HOW WOULD I BENEFIT AS A STUDENT? If you are a parent or carer, then your children can benefit from private lessons in English (up to KS2), Maths (up to GCSE), Science (GCSE), Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning. This way of learning would not only boost their confidence but also increase their results in 11+ entrance, SATs and GCSEs placing them ahead of their peers. Past pupils sitting their entrance exams have gone on to apply to their chosen schools and university with proven results. Students would have access to vast resources including a catalogue of at least 200 books full of techniques and past papers to help support and boost their education. Learners are offered a personalised tuition plan catered to their individual needs, goals and learning styles. Learners can expect to have their knowledge gaps identified and appropriate resources selected to help them close those specific gaps, in a caring yet challenging manner. Tuition is not a side hustle for me, it's my main vocation. Not only does that mean more attention for your child but also availability during daytime through school holidays or if you are based overseas. WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM YOUR LESSONS With +10,000 hours teaching experience, you can expect a lot. Firstly, there is a free consultation and a free initial lesson so that you both check whether you like what I can offer. All lessons are prepared in advance to make the best use of tuition time. Curriculum-aligned material is taught, learners’ understanding is checked systematically, misconceptions identified accurately and clear and direct feedback is provided. In doing so, knowledge gaps are identified and content repeated to plug gaps where appropriate and embed learning. Common errors are shared to help student prevent making them in their practice and in their exams. I use a collaborative, interactive, online whiteboard which is free and simple for my students to use: no holding aloft shaky notepads aimed at the webcam. This allows me to watch and check students' understanding in real time. Using the `I Do, You Do, We Do` model, students are told what they need to know and how to do it, then we work on a task together to help student become more confident with new learning and finally student individually uses what they have been shown to demonstrate proficiency using practice questions or repeating back to me what they have learned. EXAM PREPARATION STRATEGY Construct a solid foundation of knowledge Exam technique tips Practice (practice practice!) past papers in the weeks/months preceding exam SKILLS OFFERED Excellent, deep subject area knowledge of curricula Strong ability to explain concepts in clear and simple terms Engagement with students of assorted abilities and backgrounds QUALIFICATIONS I hold a Bsc (Hons) Biochemistry from a Russell Group University and a PgDip Analytical Chemistry. I spent the first two years of my university programme studying maths. I'm DBS checked and my qualifications and certificates are available for inspection.

As mentioned, I'm currently a student who is about to enter Sixth Form at the beginning of the next academic term. As a teacher, l portray myself to be very calm, considerate and patient. I have developed such a diverse skillset from being both a proud older sibling and an incredible teacher to many of my friends and relatives of whom would reinforce my words. Likewise, I'm a very friendly, caring and understanding young lady who enjoys developing new connections and supporting others to the best of my abilities! This is reflected in my style of teaching as I enjoy elaborating further on points students may not quite grasp at first glance as well as providing a fun and inclusive environment where students on feel they are able to work to their full potential without fear of judgement for whatever reason! Although I'm just entering Sixth Form, l believe that my teaching capabilities are just as elaborate and enlightening as someone of a higher qualification. As an aspiring teacher, l acquire excellent communication skills which allow students to feel comfortable in the created learning environment moreover they're more likely to thrive with a humerous and thoughtful teacher. Therefore, l hope that you entrust me to provide quality education to your child while also developing their social skills and general confidence. Thank you for reading!

Allow me to introduce myself - I'm Nelson, an experienced educator who has been teaching in secondary schools for over six years. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of teaching in both London and Australia, enriching the lives of students through subjects such as maths, science, chemistry, and psychology.
My journey as an educator has been driven by a profound passion for building children's mindsets and fostering a belief in the power of growth. I firmly embrace the concept of the growth mindset, knowing that when students are equipped with the right mindset, they can achieve remarkable things. By instilling in them a sense of resilience, adaptability, and a hunger for knowledge, I empower my students to embrace challenges and view setbacks as opportunities for growth.
One aspect that sets me apart as an educator is my unwavering commitment to building students from their foundations to higher levels of proficiency. I recognize that education is not a one-size-fits-all approach, and each student deserves tailored guidance and support. By identifying their unique strengths and areas for improvement, I create personalized learning experiences that challenge and engage them. My goal is to ignite a love for learning that transcends the classroom and accompanies them throughout their lives.
Discipline and consistency are integral to my teaching philosophy. I firmly believe that discipline, when nurtured with consistency, serves as a powerful tool for success. By setting clear expectations, establishing routines, and fostering a structured learning environment, I guide my students in developing the self-discipline and organizational skills necessary for their academic journey. Through this approach, I aim to equip them with the tools they need to thrive not only in their studies but also in all aspects of life.
One of the most rewarding aspects of being an educator is witnessing students realize their full potential. I am driven by a deep sense of fulfillment when I see my students grasp complex concepts with ease and confidence. To facilitate this, I employ various teaching strategies and techniques that cater to different learning styles. By incorporating interactive discussions, practical experiments, and real-world examples, I create an engaging and dynamic classroom environment that fosters deep understanding and long-lasting knowledge retention.
In summary, I am an enthusiastic and dedicated educator who believes in the transformative power of education. With a strong belief in the growth mindset, a passion for building strong foundations, and an unwavering commitment to discipline and consistency, I strive to guide my students towards realizing their full potential. Together, we embark on a journey of growth, discovery, and lifelong learning, unlocking the doors to endless possibilities.
