Learn to throw clay and make your own pottery item
Return to decorate your very own personalised pottery item or have it delivered to you
All materials and tools provided
Take your creativity to the next level with this introduction to pottery wheel throwing session, for one person. Make your very own pottery piece; whether it’s a personalised mug or your very own pot, you’re sure to finish the session having created something completely unique.
Your experienced tutor will begin the taster session by explaining the basics behind pottery wheel throwing. You’ll be walked through how to use the wheel and how to work with the clay and different tools that you’ll be using. All materials you need will be provided on the day, as well as refreshments to keep you feeling energised.
Next up, it’s time to start throwing! Get to grips with the wheel’s movement and learn the techniques behind this fun and challenging craft as you create your pottery item. Your tutor will demonstrate and guide you through this to ensure you get the most out of the session.
After you’ve created your own clay piece, it will be ready to fire in the kiln. You’ll then have the opportunity to return and decorate your item to fully personalise it, or alternatively, choose your colours and have your item delivered to you.
This experience is perfect for those who are looking to improve their skills as well as those who are completely new to working with clay.
