Normally, I like to use exam-style questions in order to gauge the student’s knowledge and work on their weaker topics, enabling them to answer questions confidently and clearly- gaining higher marks.
A lot of students could be excellent at a subject, if they are properly engaged. As someone who is passionate about tutoring and equally wants your child to do well, your child will enjoy their lesson whilst learning key tips to ace their exams. There is no room for lengthy explanations, dull note-taking or constant listening in my lessons.
As a child, I remember hating certain subjects because the teacher made the lesson really boring and unengaging. After independent study at A-Level and university, I realised how interesting some topics were and the importance of keeping students interested, which essentially means being interested as a tutor yourself.
I am a PhD student in Materials Science, specialising in metallurgy and additive manufacturing. I am currently awaiting my viva and possess substantial experience in teaching and outreach within the STEM field. Coming from a Russian-French background and having grown up in France, I am proficient in teaching French, English, and Russian languages. Furthermore, I have been practicing ballet since the age of three and had the opportunity to teach ballet in Moscow for a year during a student exchange.

Create a practical timeline I have got Engineering degree qualification, which makes me the most appropriate tutor for mathematics subject. I have studied as well trained the simplest mathematics as well as complex one. So, I know the subject's concepts, ideas and problems inside out. I can discuss and introduce the rigor of real-life applications. I can make learning relevant to students' interests, thus create more students who actually care about what they are learning. I am very much aware of National Curriculum of UK and know about the key stages and the assessments, the student would go through after completing each key stage. I always prefer to discuss child's progress with his/her parents by the end of each assessment. That would assist me to meet the expectations of parents.
