Hi. My name is Gemma. I am a science and maths tutor, specialising in biology and applied mathematics. I teach with a strong focus on exam skill and application of knowledge, using a mixture of theory, practice questions and exam questions. I encourage a positive attitude to the subject and aim to create a love for learning, as well as good grades. Questions are always welcomed throughout my lessons. I have 3 years experience as an online private tutor in both UK and international exam boards, at all ability levels, including teaching students who have English as a second language. I have a first class degree in Microbiology and a masters in Global Health, with distinction. Both my degree and masters included strong mathematical and statistical components. I also have A levels in biology, chemistry, physics and maths. A typical lesson with me would include a starter question, to either establish baseline knowledge, or revise a previous topic. Followed by a mixture of theory with practice questions to consolidate and challenge your knowledge. For exam level students, I would then finish with exam questions. However, I am also aware every student is different and learns differently, so my lesson plans and teaching style are highly adaptable to suit the needs of my students.
