GCSE Maths, Physics and Economics tutor eager for you to succeed!
I am a Maths and Physics enthusiast with an aptitude in essay based subjects as well ,specifically economics. I am currently an undergraduate at Imperial College for Aeronautical Engineering and am happy to teach all abilities up to GCSE. From my tutoring background I have developed a calm and reasoned approach to mentoring. I have tutored maths online via a text-based mentoring app where we used whiteboards an to guide students . As a violinist of 9 years I have also tutored experienced players during my last 4 years of school. Overall I can draw from my experience to ensure sessions are engaging yet effective. I teach GCSE Economics, Maths and Physics and am proficient in all types of question, from exam to a more problem solving type. Using the specification I can tailor any material taught to the student’s needs, maintaining precision in key concepts. I prefer a two-way dialogue when teaching as I believe this is the best way to learn.For Economics I have strong knowledge of key diagrams and theories, as well as the ability to discuss extended chains of analysis . Maths, English and Science were some of my favourite subjects in school, and since it hasn’t been very long since I’ve left my secondary education, I am well versed in those three subjects, science to a further level due to my degree.
I hope I can be of help to all students, as I have a very specific methodology of teaching, personalised for each student, and will be happy to have the student’s input too.
I have experience in teaching those younger than me in my school days, where I headed an afterschool session once a week for those who needed help with anything they were taught throughout the year. I also made sure they were prepared for exam season, making sure that they focused on exam papers, and learning and revising through making mistakes with those questions, rather than making notes.
I have helped students with improving their musical talents as well, as I have played the piano and learnt singing to a high level (Grade 8 Piano and Grade 7 singing), and this helped me learn better communication with students as well as their parents.
I have taught for 3 years now, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English. I have had students leave to go to University as well as students who just started their GCSE pathways. Some of my students have gone onto Oxbridge Maths and Physics, as I also support their interviews. My lessons are initially for GCSE students but I usually begin at year 9 all the way to year 12.

I have taught in mainstream primary schools for nearly 10 years and prior to this, I was a Nursery Nurse for a near by council, working for SureStart with children aged birth to five. Within in the Primary School sector, I have worked with all Key Stages but my preference and comfort zone lies within EYFS and KS1. I am an Early Years Lead teacher, which means I'm responsible for the Early Years department within my school and I also lead the phonics and early reading curriculum throughout school too. I am a believer in hands-on learning; using resources wherever possible to support the children's understanding, to deepen concepts and most of all have fun is something I'm passionate about.

I graduated with a first in Primary Education (with QTS and a specialisation in Mathematics) in 2017. Whilst I spent most of my childhood in Germany, I have dual nationality and grew up bilingual speaking both German and English at home.
I started teaching and supporting others in subjects that interest me when I was a teenager. Aged 15-17 I mainly gave English tuition to the (German equivalent of) GCSE students and below, with an occasional Maths lesson in the mix. I then moved to England to complete my A-levels, where I was promptly employed by school to teach German language practice. I ended up teaching all the pupils doing AS and A level German in small groups in preparation for their various oral exams.
As I enjoyed teaching, I decided to pursue a career as a teacher (after taking a gap year of running the stable management in a small, family based tourism business in Spain).
During university I had 3 long term and many short term placements in different types of schools. My favourite by far was in a PRU (pupil referral unit), where I got to work in a small class with children often working years behind what the national curriculum requires. It’s here that I realised how much more I enjoy teaching one on one or small groups than whole class settings, as they allow me to get to know the individuals’ needs and abilities better.
Most of my placements concluded with the feedback that I am outstanding at supporting and stretching students with intervention sessions. I love to challenge people (young and old) to give their best. It’s amazing what difference a little bit of patience and support can make when tailored to individual needs. This experience in particular is what has driven me to start private tutoring again, which I have been doing as my main occupation for the last year.
