My main experience is in KS2 (Years 4, 5 and 6) but am qualified for the whole Primary age range, 5- 11 years. In my experience as a Teacher, I have taught children with Dyslexia, children with Autism, children with Aspergers, children with social and emotional needs and looked after children.
My approach is very child centered. I look at celebrating the positives first and then gradually working through the harder bits, all at the child's pace, with a view to plugging any gaps so the child can celebrate success in their learning.
I teach in many different ways to appeal to the different learning styles (auditory, visual and kinaesthetic) and believe it is important to give the child a meaningful context to their learning (i. e relate it to everyday life).

Ts and am predicted to get all 9s and 8s in my gsces have already gotten five grade 9s and 2 grade 8s in my mocks. One of which being a grade 9 on my maths gcse. Hi, I'm Heather! I'm a 23 years old post-graduate with a passion for science. I have just completed a bachelors degree in Biochemistry at the University of Nottingham specifically focusing on Cancer research which has allowed me to combine my interests of Biology and Chemistry, both of which I loved in school. My aim is to extend my knowledge and enthusiasm for these subjects to other students so they can achieve their full potential. My peers would describe me as having a kind and approachable nature which I believe is essential for providing a comfortable learning environment where there is no such thing as a stupid question!

Through my previous tutoring endeavours, I have found that improving one’s confidence is the most mutually beneficial approach to tutoring, as it allows students to feel comfortable enough to make mistakes and learn from them; this in turn, will lead to an increase in marks and grades. This has proven to be extremely effective as past tutees have gone on to achieve grades well above their predicted grades, surprising the institutions themselves.
My tutoring experience is comprehensive and inclusive, as I have worked with many different kinds of students, including those with learning difficulties and from areas of deprivation. I am able to tailor my approach to best suit the student and their needs appropriately, ensuring the greatest outcome is achieved for all.
