I have won three awards for excellence and a superb tutor. In addition, I have successfully employed various teaching approach/ strategy when teaching and found that this led to many positive student outcomes, such as students getting A grades in A level Maths and Further Maths. I always take a student-centered approach to teaching by asking students to bring their notes and talk me through the topics they feel are most difficult. My aim as your tutor would be to identify your strengths and weaknesses and build upon these appropriately. I would incorporate past paper questions very early in the curriculum to assess how well a child can apply their knowledge to answering exam questions. This will ensure that by the time the exams are sat the student will be fully prepared.

During my lessons I introduce the new material in a simple way. This is followed by working on instructive reinforcing exercises to enhance and deepen understanding and build confidence in the new knowledge. I set focused homework at the end of each lesson and discuss marked homework at the start of the next one using it to emphasis on the areas that require improvement and also for keeping a track of students' progress.

My name is Surbhi J. and I currently work at an school in Hillingdon as a maths teacher and KS3 coordinator.
My experience in teaching helps me identify the learning gaps and I generally address them in the very beginning in order to support students in their learning journey. Students do feel confident about their mathematical skills after a couple of lessons. My lessons are students centric and I tend to clear all their misconceptions so they have deeper understanding.
