Science Clinic Private Tutors was founded in 2010. Our vision was to help struggling children understand the concepts of the major subjects which are sought after by many colleges & universities. Our tutoring was mainly in the main subjects (Maths, all 3 Sciences & English Language) to exam students only. I have 10 years experience of tutoring and currently work as a Physics/Combined Science teacher at a secondary school in London. I have extensive knowledge of Edexcel/AQA/OCR and other exam boards. I also teach small groups revision classes in Physics and Chemistry, KS3 revision and catchup classes and 11+ examination preparation.
My methodology is tailored to each student needs and the progress is monitored regularly. I am very confident with the methods I use as I tutor at different levels which means I can choose the right level based on student needs. I always follow a simple approach in teaching Maths I teach in a clear simple style and I make sure the student understands by testing.
I plan my lessons in advance based on student needs! I am flexible, I can do practice based on exam papers for higher levels or I can also do individual lesson plans for any topic on lower levels. I am confident with all levels.

I've been a teacher and tutor for over 30 years and feel I'm just about getting the hang of it. In addition to teaching content, I focus particularly on getting my students to think more deeply about how and why they study, helping them learn better how to learn, That really is the fun of teaching. Essentially, I try to provide the kind of education and support I would want for my own children. Not that I actually do provide that for my own children, of course; I’ll be looking for some other sucker to tutor those little monkeys. I work in the North Kent area (principally in and around Gravesend and Medway) and specialise in maths and physics, but also run sessions on essay writing (which concentrate on improving grammar, punctuation and structure). Most of my students are studying A-level or IB, but I also run GCSE and 11+ sessions. Although offering individual tuition from time to time, I mainly run small groups, classes and crammers, which provide a better education at far lower cost.
In addition to offering personal tuition, I also produce free video tutorials for those unable to afford help (or for whom a trip to the bucolic paradise of North Kent is sufficiently unfeasible or unpalatable). The library is currently small but will doubtless grow with my children (who are the reason I currently have so little time to make more – either videos and children). In terms of qualifications, I hung around Cambridge till they gave me a couple of degrees to go away, then repeated the trick at Oxford a few years later. I've therefore acquired a bachelors in physics, masters in history/philosophy and theology, and a doctorate in theology. Which displays either commendably diverse interests or an inability to stick at anything. My wife suggests the latter.
