After a successful 23 years of teaching practice, I now dedicate myself to providing high-quality, personalised online tutoring. I have successfully worked as a class teacher in a diverse range of settings, from inner-city London schools to an outstanding public school in Norwich.
I have taught primary maths and English at every primary age, and have particular expertise working with upper key stage 2 children. In this role, and as as a maths coordinator for many years, I have successfully prepared hundreds of children for SATs and 11 plus exams. In addition to my extensive experience with the UK National Curriculum, I can also tutor children following the International Baccalaureate.
I have always strived to adopt my teaching techniques to ensure that it best meets the learning style of every student. Every session is planned for each individual student, to ensure outstanding learning and outcomes. As an educator, I like to keep things upbeat and creative, yet my approach is both methodical, and steeped in experience. My favourite part of working as a tutor with is seeing the real, tangible progress that my students make under my guidance.
I am a very experienced maths teacher and tutor, looking to help your child achieve the grades they are hoping for. I teach full time at Gresham's Senior School in Holt, and tutor in the evenings and on Sundays. I have enjoyed success in boosting students' results by as much as two grades at GCSE, A Level and IB (in comparison with their expected scores). Of course, the sooner you start, the more chance of success (I teach from Year 8 upwards). I have tutored students from Norwich School, Wisbech Grammar, Town Close, Taverham Hall, Norwich High School for Girls, Beeston Hall and Cromer Academy and have also gained a lot of experience teaching online, through Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and a range of maths-related programmes. I have worked in education for over 20 years, teaching in secondary, specialist and primary schools. I've been a SENCO on a mainstream secondary school. Quite often my time in Mathematics tuition has been taken up by A-level students who were in way over thier heads due to the jump in the difficulty of the subject from GCSE to A-level, even the best GCSE students can struggle at A-level. I would always advise students to spend some of the summer run up period to starting A-level studying as much of the early A-level work as possible. Unless the student is particularly gifted in math, then success in A-level or GCSE will be dependent on a great deal of hard work and practice on the students behalf.

I can teach Maths and Chemistry from KS2 to A level. I have been teaching since 1989. I have retired few years back from full time teaching.
After graduating with an honours degree in Mathematics, Zahra entered the hedge fund world where she studied for CIMA and CFA qualifications. I always take a student-centered approach to teaching by asking students to bring their notes and talk me through the topics they feel are most difficult.
