My best subject in school had always been maths. I continued studying maths at a university level. I have taught KS3 Maths for a couple of years in Greece. My first tutorial was a GCSE student that scored highly in her final maths exam. I prepare lessons meticulously. I give priority to practical worksheets and revision. I apply certain methodology as well. I aspire to inspire my students and make things enjoyable some times (as maths can be boring at times:-)

I always take a student-centered approach to teaching by asking students to bring their notes and talk me through the topics they feel are most difficult. My aim as your tutor would be to identify your strengths and weaknesses and build upon these appropriately. I would incorporate past paper questions very early in the curriculum to assess how well a child can apply their knowledge to answering exam questions. This will ensure that by the time the exams are sat the student will be fully prepared.

Is maths a mystery? Do you wish you understood ‘why’ as well as ‘how’? If you ask a question, does your teacher give the same explanation again and again? It doesn’t have to be that way. My methods really work; my students increase their mathematical abilities and confidence, and can explain what they’re doing. Some are so excited after my lessons that they can`t wait to tell their parents all about it! Do you wish your child was so inspired by their teacher that they voluntarily did extra maths in order to improve?
If your child has had a difficult time with maths at school, or perhaps you`ve tried other tutors and been disappointed, fear not, there is a better way. Follow other parents who have noticed their child leave my lessons with a grin, and a bounce in their step, follow other students who have messaged me after exams to tell me that there was so much they could do! This way works; maths doesn`t have to be a mystery.

In the first lesson, I`ll ask lots of questions to get a picture of what my new student can and can`t yet do, and more importantly, what they understand. I`ll then use that to build a programme for the next few weeks, including any topics that they would like to work on. Often I point out weaknesses that my students haven`t noticed or haven`t realised are holding them back; once we fix these, progress is visible and can be quick.
My planning is completely flexible and is built around my student’s progress and needs, and I use a variety of resources so that we can explore topics in different ways. I am patient and used to explaining concepts in several different ways to find the way that works for each individual. I don’t teach tricks (unless you want me to), I focus on helping students to understand.
What online lessons require and involve
Having online lessons is often something students haven’t considered or perhaps feel daunted by. I’ve taught a number of students online, some exclusively so and some when convenient e.g. when they or I went on holiday. Online lessons also allow me to be more flexible over timings and to offer a lower rate since no travel is involved.

Online lessons require a computer, not necessarily a laptop, internet access and a quiet room.
I carry out lessons on Bitpaper, an online free whiteboard. If students sign up for an account, they can save that whiteboard and come back to it whenever they want. Thus they have ready-made notes after each lesson.
My students can opt to have cameras on or not; I am always happy to follow my students’ lead on this. I know some people prefer to work unseen whereas others like being able to look at my face as we discuss topics. What matters is that my students are comfortable.
I set homework on another website, also free to use, that marks work for me and the student and allows me to focus on giving feedback and correcting misconceptions.

I am currently a Medical student at Keele and a graduate from the University of Salford, achieving a 1st in my degree in Human Biology and Infectious Disease. Achieving the highest mark within my university. I was responsible for a programme known as GEMMS which is for supporting students in their medicine/dentistry applications, assisting them in interview technique and for the entrance exams.
I have mentored and tutored for 5+ years, helping students to achieve grade 9 in maths. I currently tutor Mathematics, physics, biology and chemistry for A-levels and below.
I am a fun person who particular loves his sports. Seeing the improvement and progress a child can make in a short amount of time is always the best feeling and I strive to help you achieve your goals and beyond. Sometimes having that 1 to 1 session can make all the difference in clearing up any worries about a topic.
I begin my classes by asking the student what they want to learn or discuss during the session. If they have a doubt in a concept, I will ask them to explain the same concept to me in their own words and correct them wherever necessary. I will provide some good methods to study or approach that topic. I will conclude the lesson by asking them if there is anything they would like to discuss in our next session so that I could prepare some questions in advance. I will also regularly be assessing your improvement through the use of practice papers to get an idea of where the student is at and how they can further improve. I strive to get the best out of my students.

I have taught in various environments, FE, Secondary, Primary and in Homeschool and PRU situations. I believe that tutoring offers a specialised expereince and ability for the stuent to be given pure focus for that time slot. It allows for impact and for student progress. I absolutely love working in Education, specifically tutoring as I enjoy seeing the rewards that I get from the students whom I work with. I specialise in FE, students whom may need motivation who are not accessing their education and may need that help to get back on track and to see where their education/ A-level studies can take them.
