Science Clinic Private Tutors was founded in 2010. Our vision was to help struggling children understand the concepts of the major subjects which are sought after by many colleges & universities. Our tutoring was mainly in the main subjects (Maths, all 3 Sciences & English Language) to exam students only. Because of the huge demand of tutoring in all year groups, we now teach students across the board from Primary (KS1 & KS2) through to GCSE, A-level and University. We were luck to have had colleagues we share the same vision with join us. Now we can teach all subjects from Primary through to GCSE, College /A-levels and Science & Maths at University level. All our teachers / tutors are graduates and qualified teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) who understand the National Curriculum. Some of them are examiners at GCSE and A-level, which means they know the exam techniques students need to answer the exam questions properly and get better grades. Within the team, we have professionals with very high qualifications ie Masters Degrees (MSc / MA) and PhDs in various subjects. We can, therefore, be confident to say we are professionals who are dedicated to what we do with proven records in the UK’s most entrance and national exams. We are a tutoring organisation that is defined by its professionalism. Our aim is to provide a personal service. This makes us very different from most tutoring companies that just offer a platform for tutors and students to meet. We speak to clients so that we can match them with the most appropriate tutor for their needs. When this happens, the results can be remarkable & confidence grows. We personally know all our tutors and all have had DBS checks and their qualifications checked before we take them on. We are also a member of The Tutors’ Association (TTA) which was formed in 2013 to provide standards to the tutoring industry.

I am a Maths and Physics enthusiast with an aptitude in essay based subjects as well ,specifically economics. I am currently an undergraduate at Imperial College for Aeronautical Engineering and am happy to teach all abilities up to GCSE. From my tutoring background I have developed a calm and reasoned approach to mentoring. I have tutored maths online via a text-based mentoring app where we used whiteboards an to guide students . As a violinist of 9 years I have also tutored experienced players during my last 4 years of school. Overall I can draw from my experience to ensure sessions are engaging yet effective. I teach GCSE Economics, Maths and Physics and am proficient in all types of question, from exam to a more problem solving type. Using the specification I can tailor any material taught to the student’s needs, maintaining precision in key concepts. I prefer a two-way dialogue when teaching as I believe this is the best way to learn.For Economics I have strong knowledge of key diagrams and theories, as well as the ability to discuss extended chains of analysis . Following completion of A-Levels in History, English Literature and Health and Social Care, I began my career in education through obtaining a degree in primary education, specialising in the arts and humanities. I have taught children ranging from 4-11 in addition to gaining experience in EAL, SEN and training in BR@P and Prevent. I have further experience as a nursery nurse and a childminders assistant focusing on preparing early years children for school. Throughout this time, I have developed a child-centred approach to teaching by observing the child and tailoring to their individual needs based on personality, learning style and level.

After graduating from Newcastle University with a First-Class Degree in Journalism and Culture, I began a career in education through Teach First. I have since worked in a variety of different schools where I have shared my passion for learning with the many pupils that I have taught.
I am a fully qualified teacher with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education and extensive experience in primary settings including as Head of Maths. I have a meticulous knowledge of the primary curriculum, having taught for extended periods of my career in Year 6 as well as in lower KS2 and KS1. Most recently, I have worked as a specialist Year 6 SATs tutor educating small groups and individuals to help them to achieve accelerated progress towards their academic goals and aspirations. During this role, I have worked with a range of children including those with SEN.
I believe that there is no one set approach to improving academic standards and that instead this should be tailored towards the needs of the pupil on an individual basis. For example, this could involve providing challenging and thought-provoking material or rebuilding a pupil's understanding and confidence from the ground up. At the heart of my philosophy, I believe that tutors should build meaningful relationships with their pupils and encourage a love of learning.
Hello and welcome to my TutorExtra profile. I'm Emma, an experienced Primary School teacher with a specialism in Early Years. I am described as caring, nurturing and welcoming teacher and individual.
I have taught in mainstream primary schools for nearly 10 years and prior to this, I was a Nursery Nurse for a near by council, working for SureStart with children aged birth to five. Within in the Primary School sector, I have worked with all Key Stages but my preference and comfort zone lies within EYFS and KS1. I am an Early Years Lead teacher, which means I'm responsible for the Early Years department within my school and I also lead the phonics and early reading curriculum throughout school too. I am a believer in hands-on learning; using resources wherever possible to support the children's understanding, to deepen concepts and most of all have fun is something I'm passionate about.

I have been teaching for the past 18 years. I have worked in primary schools across County Durham and have considerable experience in teaching across all the primary phases.
