Hello! I am a friendly, fun and dynamic tutor, ensuring that my lessons are bespoke to the needs of your child. All my tutoring is currently one to one, however, I am exploring the group tuition options. I tutor purely online, creating an immersive learning environment for your child to truly thrive. The lesson is run through Zoom to ensure that your child can see me and I can see them throughout the lesson. I use some whiteboard features for explaining concepts and I also use a programme to ensure that a range of interactive activities can be accessed by your child to progress learning. I am able to see everything that your child is doing on the screen, meaning I am able to keep them on track, identify misconceptions and progress their learning as they require it.
I am a fully qualified teacher, with experience in the classroom. Teaching in both Wales and England I am able to teach to both curriculums effectively and efficiently. With an in depth understanding of the requirements of both learning environments. Prior to teaching in a school environment I taught a variety of age ranges within the museum sector, accumulating an additional 4 years teaching experience. I have a Diploma in SEN Teaching, alongside classroom experiences working alongside children with ADHD and ASD, dyslexia and speech and communication delay, along with supporting children with mental health concerns.
In addition, I have experience of working with children to build upon their confidence, breaking down the negative relationship they may have with maths and rebuilding it in a positive manner. I am passionate about my subject and have plenty of tips and tricks to help your child succeed.
This is particularly successful in developing your child's confidence and skills at GCSE. Results day 2024 saw my students have 100% pass rate with Grade 4s or above. Many of my students improved by 2 or more grades by their exams.

I have been tutoring GCSE and A-Level for nearly 10 years. I specialise in teaching Maths and Physics (also Science at GCSE).
My services include the following
- 1 to 1 tutoring session which covers a detailed explanation of the topic and how to solve the questions rather than just copying it from the text book.
- Setting homeworks
- Easy to understand handwritten notes to summarise each chapter and key things to remember. The notes will be written outside the session in my own time.
- Exam revision and working through past paers.
Teaching mode:
Online sessions are £25/hour (Skype video call + writing on screen)
In-Person sessions are £30-£35/hour depending on the distance.
Availability:
Monday - Thursday : 5:30pm to 8pm
Friday : 2pm - 5pm
Weekends : 9am - 11am
1-1 teaching in Piano, Violin, Saxophone and Trumpet in Cardiff as well as maths tutoring. I would be happy to teach multiple instruments to the same person at a reduced price for the second. I am experienced in my instruments and so far have taught trumpet and maths so I have experience in teaching children. I have grade 8 qualifications in all 4 instruments and study piano at Cardiff University School of Music. I have an A* mathematics A-level and completed two years of mathematics at Cardiff University before I decided to pursue music further instead. I am currently studying as an undergraduate for a Mathematics degree at the University of Bath. I have achieved A*s in Maths and Further Maths at A-Level (WJEC) and in Maths, Maths Numeracy and a distinction in additional maths at GCSE level (WJEC), so am able to cover A-Level and GCSE content for students studying for these awards, but, in addition, am happy with tutoring maths to any students who are in KS3, KS2 or KS1. My tutorials would be focused on initially explaining or revising a concept, going through some questions related to that topic, with explanation as to how it should be solved and checking the student understands the concept by looking at another question related to that concept and asking the student to attempt the question or to explain how they would attempt to solve the question. In between tutorial sessions, questions of varying levels of difficulty would be given to the students for them to attempt, and these questions would then be marked when they are handed in, ideally around the time of the next tutorial session, and feedback would be given to the student surrounding those questions, with potentially more questions given for consolidation if the concept remains difficult to grasp. Questions and open discussions are ideal to ensure that topics are fully understood, and tutorials would ensure that students feel comfortable to ask about anything they might be having difficulty with.

Over my years of teaching, I’ve learnt that at any point, students may be unable to grasp important concepts in school which can lead them to fall behind, as they lack the basic foundation to build knowledge on. However, through effective mentoring and tutoring, I believe every student has the potential to improve, as we get them back on the right track while also aiming to accelerate their knowledge.
Part of my services include:
- All the lessons/paper discussions/revision/Lab practical discussion will be covered from A-Z so that any student can understand and apply concepts without time consuming.
- Free initial consultation where I will analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the student as well as tailor a course plan adapting to the student’s learning style and personality.
- Provide them with a rich selection of notes combined with both materials I have found over the years as well as notes I have written myself.
- Working with parents to achieve student's ambitions and goals by providing up to date notes on the student’s progress upon request.
- An after class, easy to access communication between tutor and students via number and email.
- Homework is expected to be sent in by the previous day for me to mark and clarify any mistakes.
- Class can be recorded for future viewing if requested.
Opting out of schools was to enable me to focus on my vocation- to teach. I have never needed to advertise as a local tutor as word of mouth recommendations have been constant and consistent. I have undertaken courses and I follow the National Curriculum in detail.

my approach is friendly and Informal- for children learn best when they are safe relaxed and not under pressure. To date I have had 315 students spend from 1-6 years with me. I ensure I work alongside the school and their current topics/ subjects so my pupils have an extra support. My aim is to help children learn and to help them find the confidence and self belief to achieve the best exam results possible. I do half termly tests to consolidate learning regularly. Each child has individual IEP that caters specifically for them- with differentiation where needed. Each lesson is evaluated in detail and records available for parents at any time. More recently I have been using Teams as a platform for online learning in addition to face to face lessons- this is something I will maintain - accessibility for students and parents alike is paramount and any method that improves communication is a good thing! 1-2-1 Tutoring- says what it does on the tin. Just your child and me during our lessons- my only prerequisite is that they humour me by sniggering at my very bad jokes! . Learning should be fun and my personal approach to teaching/ tutoring works. At gcse the pupils through my hands ( working hard at school also of course) average a 96% Grades A-C in English Lit English Lang as well as Mathematics and Numeracy. :)
please note- the reason I cannot travel is the sheer amount of lessons I have after school. For older students or adult learners travel would be possible but not after 3 pm which is when most of my lessons take place

My name is Ceri and I have been working as a tutor for over 4 years now. I tutor Maths, German and Spanish, and in that time I have worked with people of all ages and abilities, from primary school to retirees! I make sure that all my lessons and tailored to every student's individual needs, so that we can work together to achieve your goals, whatever they are for you.
As an academic science and maths tutor I have over 10 years teaching and tutoring experience. I currently teach science part time at a high school in Wales, which allows me to keep up-to-date with the ongoing changes with the National Curriculum. I teach biology, chemistry and physics to GCSE level and maths at key stage 2 and 3.
All tutoring is done online, I use Google Meets and Google Classroom to teach all my online students. Google Meets allows us to chat face to face via video link and also alows me to share my screen and whiteboard. Google Classroom alows me to set homework or assignments and provide my students with feedback and additional resources they would not ususally get with a regular tutoring session. Each student will have their own login for Google Classroom and resources will be tailored and personal to them.
Many of my students work on developing their knowledge and confidence at GCSE level or boosting their understanding of maths at key stage 2 and 3. I also teach exam preparation and intensive revision sessions during exam periods. In addition I currently have a number of students who are preparing for high school. I work with these students in developing their confidence and resiliance to ensure that their high school fears are allieviated.
Due to current pandemic I have reduced the cost of all tutoring sessions to £20.
