I am an Honours graduate in Applied Physics from the University of Strathclyde. I also have considerable experience in the one-to-one tuition of students, both in school and privately. I try to keep my part of the lesson to a minimum, so that the student can get as much practice as possible. I can tailor lessons to cover a particular need, and can provide plenty of examples to work on. I have always enjoyed maths and science and chose to study these subject throughout my time at school. I achieved all A grades in Maths, Physics and Chemistry in national 5, higher and Advanced higher level. My university degree also allows me to keep up to date with my maths and science skills and I am required to use and apply this knowledge to real life examples almost every day.
Tutoring allows me to help other students who may be struggling with maths/science in school and together we can work together to boost their grades. I use zoom to set up online sessions and through use my iPad and pencil l create interactive lessons which allows me to show workings to problems in real time. The student can choose which areas they want to focus on/provide me with specific work they would like to complete. However, if they are unsure of what areas of the curriculum they need to target specifically, I will prepare the work to complete.
I'm offering mathematics tutoring as I am a third year mathematics student and achieved A*s in A-Level for Further maths and maths. I aim to help students understand and grasp the concepts (not just how to answer generic questions) so that they can tackle any problem an exam throws at them.
