Hello and welcome to Connect Maths Tutor. I am Viviane D. and a qualified Secondary Maths teacher of 14 years. I have considerable experience in supporting students across KS3 and preparing students to sit KS4 Maths GCSE 9-1 specification Higher/foundation.
Having acquired substantial experience of working with a significant range of students and abilities, I understand fully the barriers to learning in Maths. I can therefore advise on areas where common misconceptions occur, showing alternative methods to answer popular topics and advise on exam techniques.
I now tutor one to one with students in order that I can make a real difference to their confidence and performance in Maths. At times this can be difficult to achieve in a classroom environment. My tutoring style is both structured, relaxed and supportive. I will establish early on a student's individual proficiency so that they are educated at an adapted and bespoke level.
I offer online tuition or group tuition at a reduced rate for similar ability students. I also hold a current enhanced DBS certificate. I currently have a few available slots to start immediately. Science Clinic Private Tutors was founded in 2010. Our vision was to help struggling children understand the concepts of the major subjects which are sought after by many colleges & universities. Our tutoring was mainly in the main subjects (Maths, all 3 Sciences & English Language) to exam students only. Because of the huge demand of tutoring in all year groups, we now teach students across the board from Primary (KS1 & KS2) through to GCSE, A-level and University. We were luck to have had colleagues we share the same vision with join us. Now we can teach all subjects from Primary through to GCSE, College /A-levels and Science & Maths at University level. All our teachers / tutors are graduates and qualified teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) who understand the National Curriculum. Some of them are examiners at GCSE and A-level, which means they know the exam techniques students need to answer the exam questions properly and get better grades. Within the team, we have professionals with very high qualifications ie Masters Degrees (MSc / MA) and PhDs in various subjects. We can, therefore, be confident to say we are professionals who are dedicated to what we do with proven records in the UK’s most entrance and national exams. We are a tutoring organisation that is defined by its professionalism. Our aim is to provide a personal service. This makes us very different from most tutoring companies that just offer a platform for tutors and students to meet. We speak to clients so that we can match them with the most appropriate tutor for their needs. When this happens, the results can be remarkable & confidence grows. We personally know all our tutors and all have had DBS checks and their qualifications checked before we take them on. We are also a member of The Tutors’ Association (TTA) which was formed in 2013 to provide standards to the tutoring industry.
I am 45 years old with 21 years experience of Science and Maths teaching aged 8-16 and an experienced tutor of Maths and English am able to offer individual private tuition in Maths, English (including reading), Science and 11+ entrance exams.
I am able tutor Maths and English to KS3 level and Science (combined or separate Sciences) to GCSE.
During the last 15 years, I have provided tuition to many students across a wide range of ages and abilities with excellent results both in terms of increased attainment, enthusiasm and enjoyment of their learning. As a result I have received several glowing testimonials from parents. I always have high expectations of students in my care, regardless of their ability or age.
I am also an experienced KS2, KS3 and GCSE Science examiner, currently working and assessing both Year 10 and Year 11 GCSE examinations. I enjoy my teaching and I always try to ensure learning takes place in a relaxed and focussed situation. I am able to work in the student’s home subject to mutual availability, I have also tutored very succesfully online for over 6years both nationally in the UK and internationally with a variety of students. I am currently available some evenings depending on work and family life and weekends on a Saturday - this availability changes as people book in for lessons on a first come first served basis.

I love to work with kids and have previosly tutored both my younger brothers and a few family frieds aswell so i am experienced aswell as that i have also reseived excelents on my S. A. Ts and am predicted to get all 9s and 8s in my gsces have already gotten five grade 9s and 2 grade 8s in my mocks. One of which being a grade 9 on my maths gcse. I have always loved maths and have wanted to share my love for it eversince i started it but i know that it is not as easy for some and am willing to help your child shine and learn to love maths as much as i do.

Please note that my rates are negotiable but start from £25 per hour per student for GCSE and £30 an hour for A-level, based on one student coming to my house. If you live within a 15 minute drive of my house my typical rate is £25-£30 (GSSE) or £30-35 (A-Level) if I travel to you .However, if there are 2 or more students the rate per student can be reduced (eg I currently tutor two students together and charge £40 for an hour, which equates to £20 per student)
