Hi, my name is Cara. I am currently a second year student at the University of Leeds studying a joint honours degree in Ancient History and History. I achieved high grades in all of my A Levels including an A* in English Literature. I am incredibly passionate about English and this passion makes me an ideal tutor in the subject. I have experience working alongside children in KS1 and KS2, volunteering in an after school club and supporting educational visits. I believe in creating a friendly and relaxed environment for students in order to maximise their potential. I cater my lessons to accommodate any goals or worries that the student might want to address, and my lesson plans remain flexible in case the student wants to focus on a particular issue that week. I have been teaching GCSE and A Level History and A Level Government and Politics for 25 years.
I am a 2nd year history student and I studied History, Politics and Sociology at Alevel.
PGCE in History awarded in 2007. Lead Teacher of History in a secondary state school since 2016.
I'm a well qualified History and Politics Teacher who has been tutoring GCSE and A-Level for 3 years. I love planning and teaching exciting lessons and helping to improve progress through accessible learning. I have taught a wide range of history from the ancient to modern day period. I have extensive knowledge of British and American History and Politics as well as Europe through both World Wars. As well as this, I also have a strong knowledge on the Middle Ages and the Renaissance period at GCSE and A-Level. I am also well educated in Irish history and have also extensive experience teaching social issues in Religious Education. I plan and teach using a variety of fun and exciting resources and tailor my activities to the specific needs of each student . I am currently focusing on improving my clients' understanding of exam questions and structure, helping students to focus on the key points of what the paper is asking.

Incidentally, some of my plays have been produced in Sheffield, Leeds and London with the good folk of Leeds having had the equal good fortune of witnessing me grapple with musical theatre.
