Before I started as a teacher in school, I had worked for many years as a tutor, concentrating on Gcse and A level History for a wide range of different exam boards. Since 2001 I have taught history in all years from 7 to 13 in an independent school and have gained extensive experience of preparing pupils for exams as well as stimulating their interest in the subjects taught. I always aim to stretch them as well as support them in their learning and to promote enjoyment of the learning process while pushing for the highest possible level of attainment. I have extensive experience as an examiner, particularly for Edexcel/Pearson and also as a moderator for coursework and this has informed my teaching.
With many years helping to provide pastoral support as a sixth form tutor, I have gained valuable experience in addressing the needs and problems faced by young people facing some of the biggest challenges of their lives. I have also given help preparing for university applications and have provided interview practice, including for Oxbridge applications. Together with this, I have supervised ambitious sixth formers as they navigate the demands of EPQs.
Finally, as a practicing artist with extensive knowledge of art and the context in which it is produced, I have taught the history of art for many years while encompassing the study of painting, sculpture, prints and architecture from many different epochs and locations,
I have been a History teacher in a large secondary school for nearly 15 years. I have mainly taught History and EPQ but can also teach Religious Studies and Government and Politics. Having also been a Head of Year I am understanding that all students learn in a different way and that a tutor can help to recognise effective ways that individuals learn and maximise them in a focussed environment. I have a great love for the humanities subjects and will be an enthusiastic and welcoming tutor for you, whatever your needs are.
Hi there! I'm Pip. I'm currently a secondary school Geography teacher at a school in Dorset, teaching KS3, GCSE and A Level. I'm originally from Northumberland, but have been living in Dorset since 2018. Prior to embarking on a teaching career in 2017, I worked for 8 years in London, for the YMCA, The Scout Association and Raleigh International, running volunteering programmes for young people.
I am able to provide online support for students completing home learning set during the lockdown, or provide additional resources to support learning. I have experience coaching GCSE and A Level students in revision and exam technique, as well as supervising A Level independent investigations. I am also offering English and History tutoring for primary-age/KS3.

Hello, my name is Peter H. and I am an experienced teacher and tutor. I have taught and tutored for over 10 years in various schools, both in the state and private system, as well as different levels from KS3, to GCSE and A-Level. Primarily a history specialist, I have also delivered topics in both geography and government and politics.
I have taught widely across the whole of Key Stage 2 but specialise particularly in Year 5 and 6 and ensuring that all pupils are academically, socially and mentally ready and prepared for the transition to secondary education. This is vital to ensure that they continue to fulfil their potential and make the most out of opportunities available to them.
I am a SENCo in an independent school, teaching children between the ages of 7-13 years. I am used to working individually with children who have dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia.
