I have taught many students of different ages. I have helped them to grow in confidence in themselves and the subject. I genuinely care about my students and because of this I work hard to help them achieve no matter what their circumstances are.
During my time at Cambridge regional college I showed that I was flexible with my working hours and also flexible with my subjects that I would teach.

As well as a tutor role, I facilitate personal pastoral and academic guidance to, BA Health Studies HNC and HND Care and Administration Practice (1st and 2nd year university) and Access to nursing groups. I also liaise with partner universities to support current students into articulation into 2nd and 3rd year at university. As a GTCS registered teacher, I also support and supervise lecturers undertaking postgraduate studies and I have mentored new staff members in the study for their teaching qualification.

During my role as a Main Grade Lecturer I have assisted in the delivery of suitable teaching content to students in an effective way; on occasions supervised by teaching staff and assistant/head of school.
This was multiple Access and Pre-Access courses including Business, Allied Health Professions: Professional Healthcare Practice, Time Management, Psychology, Criminology, Sociology, Mental Health, Developing Self and Research related curriculum areas. My main roles and responsibilities as an initial trainee teacher were teaching level 3 business to Access to Higher Education students. Although now I am quite versatile and can teach different subjects at different levels.
Within this role I have also voluntarily taken on a pastoral/support role, engaging students who have previously been resistant to education, or faced barriers to their education, who have since regained the foundations to complete their studies with the suggested opportunity to progress into Higher Education.
I have also continued learning while teaching, completing 46 hours CPD, and I am currently enrolled on a Level 2 Counselling Skills course at the college. Hoping to progress in the future to Level 4 counselling capabilities.
I proposed during my PGCE about building links with the community and the business students and I would hope to plan, propose, and hopefully build on these links.

I have always evaluated and aimed to improve my own communication skills, looking to maximise effective communication, and overcome barriers with any member of the organisation I am in.
I have liaised with the Deputy Head of School in contributing to the design of programmes and teaching approaches for disengaged students achieving high standards and value added to the department. I am aiming to improve my knowledge with future experience to be able to better identify and address additional student English and Maths skills development in my subject area.

I currently work within a acute psychiatric school which is attached to an inpatient unit in Edgware. I travel from Bedford and so am able to travel within these locations.
I carry extensive knowledge and experience surrounding mental health challenges that young people face daily. I have received feedback from students on many occassions indicating that my style of mentoring and approach is helpful for them. I am extremely passionate about helping young people specifically that face struggles in their day to day lives and act as a mentor/coach to assist them whenever they are in need or crisis.

I would love to help other children going through GCSE's and SAT's and to boost their confidence. I hope to make children realise that with the right mindset, one that they realise if they work hard, they can do it and achieve good results. As someone who has just finished their GCSE's, the subjects are very much fresh in my mind.
