I can teach Maths and Chemistry from KS2 to A level. I have been teaching since 1989. I have retired few years back from full time teaching.
I have won three awards for excellence and a superb tutor. In addition, I have successfully employed various teaching approach/ strategy when teaching and found that this led to many positive student outcomes, such as students getting A grades in A level Maths and Further Maths. I have experience in teaching KS2,11+, KS3, GCSE, IGCSE, IB and A Level maths online and face-to-face. I have worked as an examiner with various exam boards such as: Edexcel and AQA. I have worked as an examination officer and I entered students for WJEC, OCR, AQA, Edexcel and City and Guilds exams using SIMS.
I encourage learning by using different manipulatives, hands-on activities and technology. I utilise weekly tests to track students progress, locate areas of weakness and prepare students for final exams.
Being a versatile individual, I have had the opportunity to teach students who functioned below-, on- and above target grade. I have been very successful at accommodating diverse students needs by facilitating all styles of learners, offering individualised and integrating effective materials.

I always take a student-centered approach to teaching by asking students to bring their notes and talk me through the topics they feel are most difficult. My aim as your tutor would be to identify your strengths and weaknesses and build upon these appropriately. I would incorporate past paper questions very early in the curriculum to assess how well a child can apply their knowledge to answering exam questions. This will ensure that by the time the exams are sat the student will be fully prepared.

A dedicated and empathetic mathematics teacher with sixteen years of experience in Hong Kong and one year of experience in the UK. I have three years tutoring experience of GCSE and A Level Mathematics, as well as A Level Further Mathematics.
Aside from this, I have worked at King`s College London Mathematics School for nine years, teaching AS Computer Science as well as supporting students in admissions test preparation for Maths (i.e. the Oxford MAT and STEP papers). This has also involved mathematics outreach for y10 and y11 students,.
Before working in a school (during my PhD), I took on a range of tutorials for undergraduate mathematics students, mainly based on 1st and 2nd year modules, covering introductory calculus, analysis and abstract algebra.
I am an experienced Mathematics tutor, helping students from GCSE to university level for over twelve years. I have a BSc in Mathematics from Imperial College, London and an MSc in Financial Mathematics from Warwick University.

INITIAL SESSION: I take the opportunity to understand more about the student, past exam results, other subjects being studied and future goals – this enables me to plan further sessions tailored to the areas which need most attention at the right time.
CONFIDENCE: I try to help students gain confidence in their ability by working on areas of weakness first. I try to break problems down into manageable chunks and explain those parts that do not make sense in more detail, using my communication skills to explain concepts in a simple way.
HOMEWORK PROBLEMS: these are set to consolidate what is covered during the sessions and to identify gaps in the learning; so feedback from this process is crucial to ensure that progress is continually being made.
EXAM PREPARATION: more emphasis on past papers, consolidation of knowledge and exam strategy, but this depends on individual circumstances. I provide my own solutions to past papers questions as needed.

I have been teaching and tutoring for the past 24+ years. I teach Maths, Additional Maths and Level 2 Further Maths in KS4 and Maths and Further Maths at A level. I am an expert Mathematics and Physics teacher with international exposure and three main languages. I am a fourth year chemistry student at oxford and I am looking to become a teacher. I have worked as a teaching assistant at Watford Boys and Girls Grammar Schools and I have been tutoring privately for three years now. During high school I went to Maths Olympiads and now I am studying for a PhD. I like explaining maths, talking about maths or anything related to it. And I also like teaching. It s something that I think I can make a difference in.

I usually do sessions of 1. 5 to 2 hours. I feel this is a good duration to accumulate knowledge and not get too tired. Lesson structure varies but we will always have a recap of related topics that we may be building on the lesson, examples and explanation as needed and a focus on practice questions. I would usually recommend that we focus on one topic at a time and take time to really get the hang of it, rather than rush through lots of content that is difficult to retain.
