I can offer tutoring for French and Spanish GCSE and A level as students prepare for their exams, and have experience with teaching the new specification for AQA.
French Interpreter with the British Army, deployed to Estonia in September 2021 for a 9 month tour as part of NATO's Enhanced Forward Presence Battlegroup, serving alongside the French Army as an interpreter for the 400-strong British contingent.
Studied French and Arabic at university for a four year degree in Modern Langauges. One year was spent in the northern French town of Valenciennes, near Lille. This was a town with real culture and history and allowed me to make the most of my surroundings and started my inseparable love of all things French and the French language.
More recently deployed to France as interpreter for UK's 3 Armoured Division on Exercise ORION, the largest exercise held on French territory since the Cold War.

Hi there, I'm Ellen. I have taught in mainstream and grammar secondary schools since 2010 and tutored privately from KS2 - KS5 in French, Spanish, English, Maths and 11+ for over 10 years. I hold a BA Joint Honours from Cardiff University in French and Spanish, PGCE and TSST Secondary Maths qualification. I was previously the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, therefore I am Level 3 Safeguarding trained. I have also worked as a holiday nanny for over 10 years in the south of France for children between the ages of 6 months to 18 years of age. I have three children of my own. I love interacting with the students and getting to know what they like whilst ensuring the standard of my teaching matches that of the current specifications across a range of exam boards. I have vast experience in teaching a wide range of ability of students, catering to each student's needs and interests whilst ensuring they achieve to the best of their ability in preparation for exams. I have been working as a teaching assistant in a secondary school for 3 years, supporting students from years 7-11 with a range of abilities and special educational needs. As I currently work in a secondary school, I have first hand experience on the curriculum and strategies used to make learning more enjoyable.
