French Tutor, Teacher, Instructor
As a seasoned teacher of Modern Foreign and Classical Languages with over 30 years of experience, I've had the privilege of teaching in local state and independent schools, as well as adult and further education colleges. My expertise spans French, German, Spanish, Italian, Classics, and Latin, from Key Stage 3 to A-Level. As a GCSE examiner for Pearson Edexcel, I'm well-versed in what it takes to succeed in exams.
In my lessons, I prioritize fun, humour, and encouragement, helping you build confidence in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. I also emphasize the importance of grammar as the foundation of language learning. For Latin, I combine rigorous grammar study with engaging explorations of historical context and set texts.
I understand that every learner is unique, so we work together to tailor our approach to your specific needs and goals. With my experience as an examiner, I'll show you how to unlock the secrets of exam papers and exceed your targets.
My teaching style is built on friendliness, patience, and approachability. I believe in celebrating small victories and fostering a growth mindset. If you're looking for a supportive and rewarding learning experience, I'm excited to meet you and help you achieve your goals!

My own genuine passion for learning languages and exploring intercultural dialogue motivated me to become a teacher so I could share my passion and experiences with my students.
I am a very enthusiastic person and like to put all my energy into what I do, making my lessons fun and enjoyable for all students. At the same time, I am passionate about grammar and love teaching in a way my students can deduct the rules from the context of the language we discuss in lesson, but also become interested in practising grammar on their own.
A characteristic of my teaching is to be able to plan very efficient lessons where a skill or linguistic content is presented, developed and practised through a progressive and scaffolded structure that supports all learners. I encourage students to have a personalised approach to their learning and I am always available to help them find their own way of studying and provide tips for remaining motivated in their learning.
During my undergraduate study of Arabic, I spent almost two years in Paris. Upon completing my masters in Arabic, I decided to consolidate my knowledge of French sitting all the language and literature exams of the Bachelor Degree as a private student. I then continued my professional development by obtaining the DALF Certificate, level C1 of the CEFRL (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
My PGCE course at the University of Southampton was focussed on teaching French, Italian and German.
My native language is Italian and I hold a qualification for teaching Italian to foreigners (CEDILS). I am also fluent in French, thanks to my studies abroad and relative qualifications (see above).
I am currently teaching French and Italian in a secondary school in Southampton and teaching adults at Language Class, as well as privately.
Please get in touch if you are interested to learn in a professional, efficient and active way.

For more than two years I have helped more than one hundred students in mathematics but also in physics, chemistry, biology, and english. I like teaching sciences and I prefer teaching mathematics. I know, most of you are afraid with mathematics. However, with a good method, and a good work as well, you will have good marks and maybe become the best in your classroom. My method is simple; we solve exercises together. I will be here to explain you everything you need to know and help you with the exercices. What is the goal of doing a lot of exercises ? If you think you can have good marks in mathematics only by studying the theory, you are wrong. The theory is important, I agree, but most of your time should be spend on exercises, you need to practice, again and again. I always use this principle in my life (Pareto principle) because I need to be super efficient and this is the best way to be. You can guess now, we will study mathematics together and you will also have some bonus tips about studies, because every module is different and you don't study mathematics like you study philosophy. As I said before, I am here to help you, and I am not worried for you; like every student I had, you will do it !

I have been a tutor for a few years teaching both face to face and online. To me, the most important thing as a tutor is to really listen to your student and let them explain what they may find challenging about a subject. Each student is different and therefore their lessons should also be unique. My students appreciate my friendly approach to learning and it is important that the students are in the driving seat of their lessons. I regularly ask my students what they would like to focus on and I base my lessons around where they can make the most progress.
I think it is important to have a tutor that is actively learning more about their subject of choice and that is why I am unique as a tutor. I am currently studying English literature with French and Spanish at The Universoty of Sheffield and this degree encompasses my strenghts and also what I enjoy. I am open to tutoring any ability level and I really look forward to meeting you!

I am an enthusiastic, motivating teacher of German and French in a UK secondary and I have been teaching for 4 years. I have been tutoring for a total of 7 years, both online and face-to-face. I have an excellent track record of helping students to achieve their desired results at GCSE and A Level, and for giving beginners the confidence to speak German and French in conversations quickly.
