I teach English, Drama, Media, and Film across Key Stage 3 -5 and have run departments across three years. In the industry I have produced over 100 events in theatre across London and the United Kingdom. In film I have produced ten short films garnering numerous awards at over 100 festivals. Highlights include screening in Hollywood, at The Curzon Soho in London, and being hand picked for Danny Boyle's Shuffle Festival. Currently I am conducting research into pre-digital theatre texts with a view to developing digital adaptations for use in schools and universites. This is for my PhD at The Royal Birmimgham Conservatoire. I have extensive experience in tutoring both online and at home with excellent value added results for my students. I am motivational and methodical seeking always to help my learners achieve their desired outcomes. I hold a full DBS on the update service last cleared in Ocotber 2023.
With over 30 years of classroom, strategic, managerial, examination and assessment experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to tutoring your child/you. Tutoring is all about focusing the student on exactly what the question/task demands and demystifying the process, opening up possibilities and developing intellectual curiosity.
Before we start the tutoring, I carry out an audit of what knowledge and understanding of content there is, plus learning about the obstacles you face, what perceptions hold you back and generally finding out what kind of learner you are.
I will listen really carefully to what you need and will offer a plan to help you progress and move forward. Similarly, if I can't help, I will inform you of this too. It's really important that we get on.
Every student/learner is different; every backstory is unique. Many students have barriers; sometimes reassurance and pointing in the right direction will suffice.
Some years ago, I tutored a student on a Saturday morning. He was a bright and a very able science learner (straight As at GCSE) yet could not handle English or Literature and this was clearly holding him back (both his own self-esteem and his grades). It took a few weeks to instill a new way of apporaching the texts/writing, but once we applied a 'scientific approach' to analysis, it completely revolutinised his way of working. (He moved from a D to an A in four months of being with me, by the way!)
That was not a one-off. My recent tutoring has enabled me to accelerate learners way beyond what they thought they were capable of. Tutees are at the centre of the experince and it is all focused on them. I have an excellent interpersonal style, which is firm and fair, with a strong sense of agenda and coverage. We will go over things, revisiting to reinforce previous learning and to create the space where the tutee feels more independent and able to move forward without support. When a tutee says "I think I'm good from here!" I take that as a moment of great success!

Directing and Screenwriting tutor in Wolverhampton, UK. I am an award winning filmmaker whose films have screened at over 10 international festivals. In 2022, my film, Oiza's Nexus won the award for the best Nigerian short film at Eko Fest. I have extensive experience working in Film, Television and Academia.
I have been producing & directing documentaries for national and international broadcasting. My first documentary – CHOR-POLICE – had several international partners like NHK (Japan), YLE(Finland), PBS(USA), RTSI(Switzerland) and premiered at IDFA(2008). I founded my production company – SÉANCE ENTERTAINMENT – in 2007, with a partner from my film institute. We have been striving to reach the world of films with a touch of our own, aiming for a synergy of passion, dedication and creative application. One of our first projects – FAIRYTALE DREAMS – was broadcast by NHK(Japan).
Recently, SÉANCE pioneered 8K documentary in India, in collaboration with NHK (Japan). We produced a series of 3 films (2019-2022) exploring the visual spectacles of different regions of India – Thar Desert of Rajasthan, Golden Fort of Jaisalmer and lush backwaters of Kerela. And another 3 film series on the cuisine of India (2022-23) – in Lucknow, Kashmir and Bengal.
I was a key member of the Documentary Resource Initiative – a not-for-profit organization promoting creative experimental independent actuality storytelling in India. DRI hosts an internationally acclaimed forum – DocedgeKolkata, Asian Forum for Documentary – where I worked as Head of Incubation & Training nurturing documentary projects through mentoring by international professionals. I was also Director of DRI’s travelling documentary workshop – Documentor, and mentored in the Let’sdoc Fellowship Programme for early-career filmmakers. Another major involvement was in initiating and organising the Dhaka DocLab – first of its kind international documentary forum in Bangladesh (started in 2017).

Experienced and award-winning screenwriter with over 30 produced feature screenplays. My films have been released all around the world including, Cinderella's Revenge which went to US cinemas in April of 2024. My career has involved the management of change within an increasingly technological driven media workplace. I can offer 20+ years experience in this sector with particular knowledge of supported development and management of student learning. We hoped to achieve this in particular by increasing confidence and self esteem with removing barriers that would be traditionally by in place associated with the media industry. My working experience in the world of professional media production complement this such as magazine production as an editor and also creating community radio stations these have given my a good contact book which I can draw on when needed. with respect to my work at local colleges I delivered A2 print production to 15 students with all gaining grades of B to A's this year. I can ensure an absolute professional delivery of all aspects of media both theory and practical that is grounded in my own success rate in the past. Can tutor in most subjects. I'm a friendly tutor and love working with children. All children learn in different ways with different methods and i adapt my tutoring for each child to make them enjoy the classes and get the most out of the 60 minutes. I've taught ages from 4 all the way up to 24. I graduated from University of Leeds in May 2022, getting a 2:1 in Biology, and have worked as a supply teacher in schools all around Leeds since Janurary. I started my full time teaching position after completing a PGCE in Secondary Science, i work at Allerton Grange in Alwoodley. I enjoy teaching A level as well as IB, I specialise in Biology and really strive for my GCSE students to obtain 9’s in Triple Higher Biology.
