I have an enhanced DBS Certificate and a Level 2 Certificate on “Safeguarding Children”.
I mainly use Zoom and Skype for my tutoring but am flexible to use other platforms to deliver lessons.
I am very professional in my work and keep updating my teaching / tutoring skills by enriching my CPD regularly. I used the lockdown months to complete several online courses from prestigious Universities and did benefit a lot from the teaching style of professors from UK, EU, USA, Japan etc. and I am ready to give my students the best tuition possible.

As an older graduate entering the teaching profession, my recent international teaching and work experience resulted in a “eureka” moment for me. Not only have I enjoyed teaching and working with children, but I have really felt a sense of importance with the improvements and progress I have been involved in. My experience teaching in schools highlighted the lack of opportunities in life that still arise from poor education and developed a sense of advocacy in me, where my experience, personality, and drive would really make a difference in the classroom.
I have gained valuable teaching experience in both selective and non-selective schools; taught in multicultural schools as well as schools where the mother tongue was not English. I have developed excellent inter- personal and communication skills in dealing with all stakeholders within a school community; proven to be innovative where necessary in problem solving, as well as having good teamwork skills. One of my greatest attributes is in communicating with parents and being able to utilize my background, experience, and contacts within the university sector to plan a progress career path for students.
As a teacher, I use my experience, practical knowledge and leadership skills gained in industry to enable me to spearhead educational improvement through being an inspirational role model for students as well as shaping their attitudes to learning at key stages 3/4/5. I would like to develop students so that they are best prepared, both socially and educationally, for the challenges they will face on leaving school in an ever increasing and more challenging environment. I endeavour to develop exciting and engaging lessons that have at the heart of them, a sense of scientific enquiry that stimulates in students, a love for science as a subject as well as a passion for learning.
I feel it is important that students have a sense of a sense of teamwork in the classroom that arises from engagement with their peers by developing an engaging, interactive dynamic approach to learning in the classroom. Experience and diligence are the key consistencies of a successful teacher, both of which I have taken the effort of acquiring over more than 20years of my high-yielding teaching career. My name is Anneliese and I have a First-Class Honours BSc in Environmental Science, a Distinction in Postgraduate Masters of Research in Marine Biology and I am currently being enrolled in my PhD in Marine Ecotoxicology. I have been a tutor for over 3 years and I love helping students to achieve their goals! I am friendly, patient, accommodating and engaging! During these unprecedented times it is clear that education has been affected. As a tutor I aim to help pupils recover some of this lost time.
For secondary school students I can tutor english, geography, history, maths, environmental science, biology, and chemistry. This can include aspects specific to your school curriculum, for example english texts/poems your school teaches or chemistry topics you have struggled with and seek to improve.
For students about to start university I can help with university preparation. This would take the form of reviewing essays and essay writing techniques. From personal experience, the expectation for university work was significantly higher than secondary school. This development of your skills will help to make this transition easier and be reflected in your grades.
My previous experience tutoring ranged from helping a class A student reach full marks in chemistry, to a student attaining 10% in geography class tests improving to 50% after one month.
