Hello there,
I am qualified English teacher with extensive successful experience teaching in both state and independent schools. In addion to my degree, I have 3 post graduate qualifications, including a Masters in Educational Management and Leadership (Distinction) - the dissertation of which was on raising the attainment of pupils on Pupil Premium. I am a former School Principal with over 10 years of leadership experience. I have extensive experience in tutoring Key stages two to GCSE level. I have have
Raising the academic attainment of students has been a deep passion and successful achievement - as a former Founding Principal of a school for 4- 16-year-olds, a current practising English teacher, and a tutor. I am currently teaching English on a full-time basis and therefore have up-to-date knowledge in English Language and Literature. I have significant experience teaching remotely. In addition, I have extensive experience in marking GCSE English Language and literature papers. Over ten years, 98% of my tutees have entered elite grammar schools (a few students have gained scholarships each year, too). During the last two years, 97% of my English Language tutees have achieved levels 7-9 in GCSE English Language and 96% levels 7-9 in GCSE English Literature.
I am well-resourced in teaching face-to-face or online. An initial consultation with parents and tutee, possibly a view of the school reports, will enable me to gather necessary information about your child. Importantly, the tutorials enable me to obtain first-hand knowledge of your child, enabling me to plan my lessons for the individual.
I look forward to working with you to raise the attainment of your child in an engaging way
Warm Wishes,
Yasmin

I like to make my lessons as interactive and enjoyable as possible. There is no mandatory curriculum involved in my teaching; I focus entirely on your individual needs. For example, if you need speaking practice, grammar guidance, assistance preparing for a job interview, or are preparing for the FCE and CAE exams or IELTS, then I can help. (I charge more for exam preparation)
Arranging classes is easy and flexible to help busy working people.
My students have come from many countries including; Afghanistan, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, India, Nepal,Italy, Peru, Poland, South Korea, Slovakia, Spain, Thailand, Turkey and Ukraine.
I am prepared to travel up to 10 miles from GU51 and I charge an additional £2 per mile from GU51 with a minimum travel charge of £20
I teach adult international students from beginner (A1) to proficient (C2) face to face and online. The first meeting for new students is free.
If you live in the Fleet area, we can meet face to face; or if this is not suitable, we can meet online by skype or zoom.

I have been teaching primary for 4 years now and am greatly enjoying it. I have taught the entirety of KS2 during this time and have experience teaching KS1 also. During my most recent year, I taught year six and supported pupils through their SATs. Pupils achieved a 100% pass mark for the reading paper with 42% achieving the greater depth standard. Pupils also scored highly in grammar and 81% achieved the expected standard in this subject. In maths, 42% of pupils achieved the greater depth standard in 2022-2023.

During my university degree, I completed a teaching placement at a secondary school, where I planned and delivered lessons aligned with the national curriculum, gaining hands-on experience in classroom management, differentiated instruction, and student support across a range of abilities.
Work: Currently leading content and creative strategy for the University Calisthenics Association (UCA), where I manage media campaigns, brand communications, and community-led storytelling to promote calisthenics as a tool for social impact and youth empowerment.
Educational: Recently achieved a 2:1 BA (Hons) in English Language and Linguistics, which developed my communication, planning, research, and critical thinking skills.
Personal: Passionately engaged in calisthenics and fitness, using it as a personal, educational tool for social transformation, and as a social outlet for self-discipline and mental wellbeing. Alongside this, I work as a freelance photographer and creative, capturing everything from live events, with a strong focus on visual storytelling and community culture. Currently working towards my NCTJ Journalism qualification too.
