Esme is a UK qualified teacher trained in modern languages. She set up her own tuition business called 'The Linguist Club - Languages' to meet a demand for MFL tuition and fun learning in the community. While working as a secondary teacher, Esme realised that it is challenging cater to individual needs with such large classes with various abilities. By setting up 'The Linguist Club', children with a passion for languages can gain one-to-one or small group classes which can help catch up with subjects they’re having problems with or reach their full potential on subjects they’re being held back on.
She offers secondary (GCSE & A-level) tuition 1-1 or online; primary languages clubs and finally adult tuition. I have previous experience in tutoring people of a similiar age to me at school in order to help them achieve their desired grades. This included ages ranging from 9 (primary school) to 16 (secondary school) year olds. I assisted many students preparing for exams as well as some students just looking to widen their knowledge and improve their general ability in school. I used a nurturing and gentle approach and plan to do so going forward. I believe that this helped many people to unlock their full potential and prepare them for future exams beyond their GCSEs! Using a slow and steady approach ensures that students can easily apply their knowledge in exams, as well as just understanding the content. Specifically, during my tutor lessons students would be aided through practice papers as well as thoroughly explaining the content to ensure they are fully prepared for stressful and possibly unpredictable exams. Additionally, I have access to a wide variety of teaching and revision resources which I intend on using to aid my tutoring and can be used by students to improve their individual study sessions. My tutoring sessions would be suited for GCSE students and younger only as I will only be starting my A-Levels in September. Lengths of sessions can easily be altered, however a typical one would last between 1 and 2 hours. Again, this can easily be altered to suit a specific students needs.

Hello all! My name is Matt and I am 27 and just about to start my 7th year teaching having started at my school after University and now wish to offer tuition services after school hours in a range of subjects and preparation for 11+ examinations and grammar school entry. In my current post I am Director of Sport and Head of Computing whilst also teaching 2 English classes and a variety of PE and Games lessons. I find that my young age enables me to personalise learning easily, building productive working relationships with children built through humour, trust and common interests.
I specialise in finding innovative methods of teaching, especially for those with learning difficulties as it is my belief that all children are capable if given the right tools to succeed, which can sometimes be a simple fix or more complex. Either way, I take it on myself to try a range of things that may help each individual as every child's mind functions in different ways; this has paid off in my previous classes, especially in regard to creative writing.
