Hello! My name is Tamara and I am a primary teacher from Toronto, Canada. I have been living and teaching in the UK since 2015. I have taught Foundation Stage, Year 1, Year 2, Year 4/5 as well as covered across all other year groups in KS2. I also have experience teaching Functional Skills Maths to adults 16-21. Alongside teaching, I have been tutoring for the past 8 years across all primary year groups as well as secondary year groups. I absolutely love teaching and believe that children learn best when their interests are considered. I tailor my tuition to each child, using their interests and their academic and emotional needs to plan a program that works for them. My first job was teaching a class of 11-12 year olds who had not managed to achieve a national curriculum level in English and maths in year 6. By the end of year 7, they all achieved at least a level 3, with most acheiving a level 4 or 5. My value added was the highest in the school.
I learned through experience the power of small group work rather than simply 1-1, but led by inspirational leadership: builidng trust, self-confidence and the layering of skills to support their individual learning which is why I encourage group tutoring as the most powerful way to learn outside of regular class learning.

My name is Michael and I am a Conversational English Teacher with 6 years of experience. I specialise in a conversational (speaking-based) method of teaching - meaning it is important for me that you understand that I am not here to teach you rules or grammar but to give you tools, advice and, most importantly - to help you gain confidence and skills to speak English efficiently.
I am well aware of the concerns and needs of people, who decide to sign up for classes like that. In fact, even though I am an English native speaker, I have been learning Polish from the age of 10, so I understand how it is to learn a new language. My classes are open to nationalities from all over the world. It doesn't matter if you are a beginner, who is there to overcome the language barrier, or an intermediate English speaker, who needs to feel more confident and better their skills - I am there for you.

About the Lesson
I offer one, one and a half, and two-hour lessons, using questioning techniques to encourage deeper thinking and help students achieve top grades in English. My experience includes teaching a wide range of texts such as Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing, The Sign of the Four, A Christmas Carol, An Inspector Calls, and poetry from the Power and Conflict and Love and Relationships anthologies. I have also served as an examiner, marking AQA English Literature Paper 2, and will be marking Language Paper 1 this year.
