I am a 65 years old tutor of predominantly History and Politics, with English and Religious Studies as my supplementary subjects.
Willing to teach on-line by Skype (preferred) or Zoom, as well as person-to-person.
As you will note from my qualifications and professional experience, I have taught all four subjects for some 35 years, at College, University, Sixth Form College and High School. While the majority of my teaching has been in the UK, mainly in Birmingham, London and Bristol, nevertheless I have also taught abroad at university in the Philippines. Additionally, I have been an A'Level Politics and History examiner for the former London and Oxford & Cambridge boards in the 1990s and early post-millennium decade. So also, have I written course brochures for the History and Politics Distance - learning programmes for the National Extension College, Cambridge. All of this has added up to my having acquired a broad professional experience, which I put to the benefit of my students.
My teaching style is very much subject and communication based, with the emphasis applying knowledge and essay skills towards achieving the best exam results. There is also a priority attached to reading and grammar skills, both of which appear to be neglected by the contemporary British educational establishment. Hopefully I can use my experience and robust teaching methods towards enabling students to gain their best performance in exams and careers. - Please also note that I am happy to tutor students on-line - ie. Skype (Preferred) or Zoom, and have a fair experience of this kind of teaching.

Hello there,
I am a qualified English teacher with extensive successful experience teaching in both state and independent schools. In addition, I am a former School Principal with over 10 years of leadership experience. I have extensive experience in tutoring Key stages two to GCSE level.
Raising the academic attainment of students has been a deep passion and successful achievement - as a former Founding Principal of a school for 4- 16-year-olds, a current practising English teacher, and a tutor. I am currently teaching English on a full-time basis. I have significant experience teaching remotely. In addition, I have extensive experience in marking GCSE English Language and literature papers. Over ten years, 98% of my tutees have entered elite grammar schools (a few students have gained scholarships each year, too). During the last two years, 97% of my English Language tutees have achieved levels 7-9 in GCSE English Language and 96% levels 7-9 in GCSE English Literature.
I am well-resourced in teaching face-to-face or online. An initial consultation with parents and tutee, possibly a view of the school reports, will enable me to gather necessary information about your child. Importantly, the tutorials enable me to obtain first-hand knowledge of your child, enabling me to plan my lessons for the individual.
I look forward to working with you to raise the attainment of your child.
Warm Wishes,
Yasmin

I am an experienced writer and journalist who re-trained as a primary teacher. I have particular experience teaching KS2, preparing youngsters for KS2 SATs and the transition to secondary education.
I enjoy teaching English in a creative way, which children enjoy and engage with, and have had really positive results with my maths classes.
My style is to integrate philosophical discussion into my lessons, which are child-led - taking children on a learning journey which they themselves direct.
I have a particular interest in advising and helping in home-school environments - this can be in core subjects or cross-curricula, where I plan lessons for one child or a group of learners.

I am an empathetic individual who is willing to cater to the needs any child requires to be successful in education and life. I enjoy sport activities – this has developed my leadership as well as teamwork and problem-solving skills. I appreciate learning about the process of teaching and what it entails during the study for my degree. It has helped me in terms of looking for theory and logical reasoning and building my critical thinking for both educational and real-life purposes. My family are very important to me, and I enjoy socialising and making new friends which has enabled me to emotionally connect to individuals and understand them to a new surface.
