I am a fully qualified English Teacher with 12 years experience working in a secondary school. In my career I have progressed to the Senior Leadership Team as an Asistant Head Teacher and have a comprehensive background in pastoral care and behaviour management. I am a reliable individual with childcare experience, undertaking a Primary PGCE in September. I am looking for some additional work outside of my current 9-5:30 weekday job. I am a graduate of English Literature with a 2:1. EYFS trained.
I have worked in after school and holiday clubs across Brighton and London. I also have experience in baby sitting children with additional needs. I have worked in the capacity of a Drama Teacher for ages 3-16 previously within a theatre school setting.
I currently work 9-5:30 Monday-Friday so am looking for early morning, evening, or weekend roles.

An experienced GCSE Language examiner, I know exactly how to tackle each question for the English Lang and Lit examinations. I have successfully prepared A-Level students to sit (and achieve an interview in) the Oxbridge ELAT test and my A-Level Literature, Language and Literature students have all achieved their target grades or higher. I am currently working in a school therefore, my availability is only after school and weekends. I am very happy to negotiate a timetable, or paired tutoring sessions so students can work on their English with a friend.

I've now been inspiring children to write stories & poems in Steyning, Shoreham & Henfield for six years and I have big plans for the future.
In fact, I just trained with the Bristol Dyslexia Centre and I can't wait to share some brilliant new writing tips & tools with you!
What will my child learn?
Your child will unleash their inner storyteller or poet!
They will learn how to plan, structure and edit their writing. They will power up their poetry with similes, metaphors and rhyme. And they will develop their vocabulary to really make their stories sparkle!
My focus is always about celebrating children's creative ideas. Once they're feeling motivated and ready to write, then I gently guide their grammar and spellings.
How do you support dyslexia?
Although I'm not a specialist dyslexia tutor, I'd love to make my lessons as engaging and inclusive for your child as possible.
They might like to use a laptop or a tablet to type, or to record their ideas vocally, and that's great! I'll use a visual timetable to help them stay on track. Plus, I'll give them extra thinking time, reading time and writing time.
