I have considerable experience working through the whole of KS2. I am fully up-to-date with curriculum requirements and enjoy preparing dynamic and enjoyable lessons in order to help my pupils to achieve their full potential. I am able to support and challenge pupils with differing current levels of attainment. I currently teach in Year 6 and have extensive experience of and success in SAT www.*** ;My approach to teaching is one in which I use my experience to quickly and thoroughly assess where the strengths of my pupils lie and where they may be experiencing challenges and gaps in understanding. This approach enables me to develop a trust with my pupils which is key to a successful learning relationship. I feel that it is important to always keep learning fresh and relevant and to ensure that my pupils can see that I am enjoying working with them. Oxford Summertown Kumon
School, Learning Centre
|
The centre has been established since 1995. Students of all ages and abilities attend the centre for an average of three years – the longest standing student has attended the centre for seven years. Several previous students also now help out as assistants in the dynamic, thriving centre.
The Harlequin Rugby Club is located next to Cherwell School. The centre occupies the whole building which is on the ground level.
Students from all the local schools attend the centre and usually attend for about 30 minutes. The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.
Unlike the process of a traditional tuition provider, Kumon encourages students to take their learning into their own hands. The role of the Kumon Instructor is to provide guidance, support and encouragement, allowing the student to develop their own independent learning strategies.
