One of my peers from school and I co-founded a project in our school named "Physiothetics" where we collected pull tabs from cans around the school to donate them to the Prostheses Foundation of Thailand to aid in the production of prosthetic limbs for disabled beings. As one of the co-founders, I helped pass this project down to one of the younger years after I graduated. This rewarding process was well advertised around the school from us making posters to promote the project to us going around primary school and engaging in activities involving accessories made by pull tabs to help students understand the need of recycling pull tabs and donating them. This has helped me develop my skills of working very well with young people and people in general as I can easily communicate my ideas to my peers. A week-long experience at the reproductive science lab at Mahidol university where I learnt a lot about carrying out processes involved in IVF such as cryopreservation, sperm extraction and washing techniques. making pipettes and using them to extract oocytes from cat ovaries. I also spent a few hours each day doing in-depth documentation of what I had observed. I felt this was quite closely related to my field of study so I used it to get more practical experience. The work I did here definitely made me more meticulous and detail-oriented. Our school hosted a student leadership conference where students from other Southeast Asian schools attended this conference and me being one of the leaders organised this conference. The conference focused on sustainable development goals and product advertising and development. As a student leader, I had to manage the communication between our school and other students, plan out engaging activities and tasks and formulate an itinerary for the students so everything is organised. I learnt a lot about leadership and what it takes to be a leader and I also understood the importance of communication and the difference it can make in the efficiency of certain tasks. As an intern at MedConsult Clinic, I shadowed a GP observe them do tasks such as taking a patient's blood pressure and giving them an injection. I also performed other tasks at the clinic such as managed appointments for patients, attended patients, directed them through the clinic, and advertised the clinic on social media. In working with the GP, nurses and other interns in the clinic, I developed my ability to work in a team and understood the importance of teamwork. Additionally in advertising through making posters I was able to better comprehend the needs of consumers of such healthcare services and how to appeal to them.

Hi everyone! My name is Josh and I am a third year Maths with Economics student at Loughborough University. I have had a clear and genuine passion for maths since the start of my education, and find extremely satisfying when a certain topic clicks or I complete a tough question.
I have been tutoring since I joined university in Mathematics, and can tutor up to A-Level Maths. I have had experience with tutoring up to groups of 3, and have tutored a variety of ages and abilities across the GCSE to A-Level range. As such I am aware that each student needs a unique and tailored tutoring experience, whether that be focusing on the most difficult topics, going over the fundamentals or simply boosting enjoyment and confidence.
Please send me a message if this interests you or anyone you might know! I can do a zoom or phone call as well to discuss things further if that suits you!
Have a great day,
Josh 😊

Experienced, UK Qualified Teacher & Examiner (PGCE BSc PhD)
PhD mathematician and qualified teacher offers maths tuition to A-level, GCSE and younger students. Teaching is exam-orientated with emphasis on past papers and exam technique. I have been a Cambridge International A-level examiner for 10 years and just recently Pearson Edexcel. ONLINE TUITION: I became comfortable with this medium during the lockdown, successfully teaching college classes remotely. I am a fan of Bitpaper and Zoom. I use a Wacom tablet so that students can see me write on screen! MY MATHEMATICAL BACKGROUND: I have acquired a wide and deep knowledge of Mathematics having studied it to doctorate level at the University of East Anglia. As a researcher I have collaborated with academics to develop and expand the body of mathematical knowledge and also developed a variety of other skills: writing in an academic style for the purpose of publication, giving academic talks, teaching mathematics and statistics in undergraduate seminars (including assessment). I have done a year’s work in community education, working in a team as a part-time SEN teacher of mathematics. The students comprised several young adults with various learning difficulties. I was teaching GCSE and pre-GCSE material. I found the experience challenging, nevertheless I managed to adapt and gave my best in difficult circumstances. My experiences in education have made me appreciate the diverse communities in London. I have had considerable experience teaching predominantly Afro-Caribbean pupils in South and North London, Asian pupils in East London, refugees in North London, as well as white working class and middle class pupils in the East End and Surrey respectively. My last post at DLD College London was an international community, with students encompassing the entire global and cultural spectrum. My first teaching practice was at The Archbishop Michael Ramsey Technology College in Camberwell, where I taught Mathematics at Key Stage 3 and 4. Many of the pupils were highly disaffected and resisted work; it took time to break down the barriers. Against this challenging background I developed and improved my classroom management skills, particularly in ensuring that every pupil was focused. I also spent a lot of time working with pupils outside lessons. In complete contrast, my second school placement was in a Beacon school, Coombe Girls’ School in Surrey. Here I developed my teaching style, recognising and using connections across the subject, using skilful questioning in class discussions to elicit pupils’ understanding and further their learning. Through my tutor group I experienced hosting circle time and delivering PSHE. I have worked as a full time teacher at The Royal Docks Community School, a challenging school in East London. I taught KS3 and KS4 mathematics, making extensive use of interactive whiteboard technology as well as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. I also designed exams, taught Foundation GCSE and assessed coursework. I have had experience of writing reports ( www.*** assessing pupil progress in academic achievement, behaviour and attendance). I was also a co-tutor offering pastoral and academic guidance to pupils and parents. I have also completed short-term placements at Beal High School in Ilford and The Greig City Academy in Hornsey, teaching GCSE students and younger, establishing a rapport quickly. More recently I have acquired considerable experience at A-level, teaching pure maths, statistics and mechanics at Crossways Academy and DLD College London. Many of my students have achieved excellent results, fulfilling their university aspirations (including Oxbridge) and the performance of the weaker ones has been very satisfying. I encouraged and cajoled able students from all year groups to attend the Maths Club in order to stretch their thinking and prepare for various UKMT competitions. At DLD I had the privilege of working with an extremely talented maths faculty whose results were consistently outstanding. During the Covid lockdown I continued to deliver live lessons using the Canvas platform and developed my online teaching skills no end. As a Year 13 Personal Tutor, I have honed my skills in writing first-rate UCAS references which are very informative, detailing the background of my tutees and showing them in the best possible light no matter what their circumstance. I have also worked as an examiner for Key Stage 3 SATS and currently at O-level / A-level for Cambridge International Examination board. More recently, I have become an A-level examiner for Pearson Edexcel and now work as a private tutor of maths. PUBLICATIONS PhD thesis "Periodic Points in S-Integer Dynamical Systems" University of East Anglia (1996). "Oriented local entropies for expansive actions by commuting automorphisms" Israel Journal of Mathematics 93 (1996). "S-Integer dynamical systems: periodic points" Journal fur die Reine und Angewandte Mathematik 489 (1997).

My name is Kat, I completed my BSc Biochemistry at Imperial College London and MSc at the London School of Economics. I have a wide range of hobbies which include music and art. My indulgence in my hobbies, however, did not prevent me from distinguishing myself academically. I want my students to understand and learn in an efficient albeit enjoyable way. Biology, Chemistry, Maths I enjoy teaching and have been a tutor for 7+ years. I teach Biology, Chemistry and Maths. I care about students, and I wish that they could learn to love Science and Maths as I do. To achieve the high goals I set for my students, I require the cooperation of the student and a change in attitude. I believe that everyone is capable of getting an A*/9 in any subject, as long as they are dedicated to achieving that goal. I am very experienced in boosting exam grades and there are numerous success stories.
Every student is different, as such, I tailor my teaching methods to each individual student. I put emphasis on encouraging students, cultivating their natural interest and understanding of the subjects they chose to take. I have found this approach to be more effective in building confidence in students, motivating them, and in realizing their full potential - all of which are key to exam success.

I am studying medicine at Queen Mary university and want to ensure academic success for all my pupils.
I have worked as a teaching assistant at a Saturday school for 1 year, helping 6-8-year-olds with writing, reading, spellings, singing, dance, and theatre lessons. During this time period, I was also a carer for a child in the class with autism, so I have experience with children who have special abilities.
I have also tutored a Year 12 student for 1 year on AQA A-level biology. Each session we went through the areas of the specification that the student found difficult and worked towards their end of Year 12 exams.
I have achieved Grade 9(A**) in GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Grade 8(A*) in Mathematics.
I have achieved A*A*A* for A-level Maths, Biology, and Chemistry.
