My name is José María de Lucas Sacristán, though most know me as Chema Sacristán. I've been a professional drummer since 2004. I'd like to share a brief biography of my career in the U.K. In 2002, at 19, I realized my love for music and moved to Bristol, U.K., where I lived for four years. Bristol exposed me to all sorts of music, including rock, jazz, world music, and more. I played my first shows and worked with over five different local bands, gaining valuable experience. In 2006, I moved to London to study at Tech Music Schools, known as "Drum Tech," where I completed my higher education and earned a BMUS in Popular Music Performance (Hons), licensed by West London University. After completing my degree in 2011, I worked exclusively as a performing drummer and drum teacher, giving private lessons in my own studio, Oktopus Music Services, in North West London. In the past nine years, I've had the privilege of performing, recording, and writing with some of the best musicians in the London and U.K. scene, such as Kevin Glasgow (one of Europe's best bassists), Robin Banerjee (Amy Winehouse's guitarist), Roberto Manzin (Zucchero), Felipe Martíns (Emeterians), Juan Whist (The Voice National Spanish TV), and many others. I've showcased in most of London's live music venues and with the best U.K. and European entertainment agencies, such as Scarlett Entertainment, Full Stop Entertainment, and more. After 20 years of professional experience, I've decided to focus fully on teaching drums and performing. My studies and extensive career reflect my devotion to music, and I've mastered many techniques, including improvising, independence, coordination, and vocabulary in most music styles of modern popular music and some world music genres. My target is to share my passion for music, drums, and percussion on stage and during private lessons. Since graduating from Drumtech, I've been playing and teaching drums professionally, largely in and around the London area. As well as having extensive experience performing as a session player in every style (though with a special focus in rock, pop, latin, funk, jazz, and electronic music), I teach students of all ages and abilities, both in-home or from my home studio in London Bridge, located 5 minutes from the station. I'm more than happy to provide references and a showreel upon request, or undergo a DBS check, and can teach curriculum, sight-reading and musical theory where required or requested.
Philip P. has been a musician for nearly thirty years. He has been teaching for the best part of fifteen years and has taught hundreds of students. Furthermore, he has recently received a distinction in the RSL Level 6 Teaching Diploma. Philip has worked with numerous artists including Chris Rea, Andy Flanagan, and Mr E to name just a few. He has also appeared on multiple recordings including the pop-rock band Seed’s debut single ‘Silver Lining’ and their album ‘Midnight Walking’ (AMG Records). Philip has also featured on the ‘One Hope’ album (ICC Records) as well as many other recordings. In 2012 Philip performed with Jazz Juice as part of the Olympic torch relay. More recently Philip worked with the Mouth of Ghosts who appeared on BBC Radio 6. Their debut single ‘When the Sun Sets’ was selected as one of the songs of the year by BBC Introducing. Philip is currently working with the bands Discovered, Beaten Tracks as well as being the full-time drummer for Fluent in Grey who recently released their first single ‘Lost’. He teaches in and around the London area as well as the Ash Bash Drum School in Bracknell. Philip also performs all over the U. K. Philip has also composed, scored and performed all the drum parts for a musical entitled ‘Legend’ by Edwin Pillans.

Educator - 2013-present – I first began teaching drum lessons at Hazelwood school in 2013, as part of my teaching assistant role. Since graduating from LCCM in 2018, I’ve taught drums in and around the London area, both privately and peripatetically, for HaytoHome music and most recently for the School of Rhythm in Penge. My students range from age 6-60 and I cover beginner to advanced level. I currently teach around 20 students a week, and have helped them achieve distinctions in Rock school and Trinity examinations whilst furthering their stylistic and technical awareness. 2021-present: Drummer of function band with regular weekend performances around UK. 2020-present: Started the original band “Surrounded” where I’m the current drummer, co-producer, and social media promoter. 2018-2021: Recording drums in different recording studios in UK for original bands as “Import-Export LTD” and “Nodo”. 2014-2017: Joined the biggest AC-DC tribute band in Italy called “AC-DI”. Touring through the country performing for audiences of over 5,000 people.
