I have been teaching 1 to 1 and group classes at school for over twenty years, and I would like to balance the lesson in both funny and successful results.

- Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach singing, piano, recorder, theory and musicanship to adults and children of all levels of ability, in styles that include classical, pop and music theatre. As well as teaching singing I also provide piano accompaniment. Having sung with national opera companies and performed in concerts and music theatre I now specialise in coaching students for auditions and perfomances. I also have lots of experience preparing students for grade exams as well as teaching those who just wish to learn for fun. - Tell me about your qualifications. I hold an ARCM (Associate of the Royal College of Music) in teaching. I studied performance at the Opera School at the Royal College of Music. I studied piano with Yu Chun Yee and Ian Lake (professors of piano at the Royal College of Music). I studied music theatre at the Actors Centre in London. - How much do you charge? I charge £30 for 30 minutes, £40 for 45 minutes, £45 an hour - Where do you teach? I teach at home in London, N20. The nearest tube is Totteridge/Whetstone on the Northern line. It is a 10 minute walk from the station, or you could take a bus for 2 stops. There is plenty of free parking outside the house. - When are you available? I am available weekdays after 4pm, Monday mornings and weekends up to 2pm. I also teach throughout school holidays. - Which ages and levels do you teach? I have students of all ages, from 5 to 95! I teach all grades in singing from total beginners to professional performers and have lots of experience preparing students for auditions and music theatre exams. I teach up to grade 5 piano and recorder as well as teaching music theory. - Which qualifications do you prepare your students for? ABRSM graded exams. Entrance to stage and drama schools. Auditions for music theatre, West-End shows, TV, films etc. - Do you have a personal message for students? My priority is to bring out the best in each individual student and to make our lessons as enjoyable as possible. I don't have a fixed teaching method but like to adapt to the interests and natural abilities of each student, so each lesson is an exciting experience for the student and myself.

I have been performing professionally for over 35 years in opera, concerts, music theatre, pantomimes, TV and film with companies as diverse as the English National Opera, the Israeli National Opera, Covent Garden Opera House, BBC radio, La Scala (Milan), Earls Court etc. I have worked at English Martyrs Primary School, Hawley Infants and Kingsgate School for 14 years as a singing teacher, accompanist and recorder tutor. - Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate? Yes. I am CRB checked and hold a Child Chaperone License. - Where and with whom did you train? Leeds College of Music with Stiles-Allen and Owen Wynne. Royal College of Music with Hervey Alan and Marian Studholme. Israeli Opera with singing Professor Maria Buday. St. Cecilia Conservatori, Rome, with Paolo Silveri. Actors Centre in London with various teachers including Mary Hammond and Mark Meylan. Piano at the RCM with Yu Chun Lee and Ian Lake. - Do you belong to any professional organisations? Musicians Union, Equity, Spotlight, AOTOS (Association of Teachers of Singing), Society of Recorder Players.

Regardless of age or ability, Joseph's aim is to work with his students at their own pace to cultivate the needed skills at the instrument and beyond. At the heart of the teaching is the importance of a well-rounded musical education; fostering deep musical communication at the instrument, with the belief that that is fundamentally the origin of technique. In addition to aspects taught in graded syllabuses such as scales, sight reading etc., Joseph encourages personal musical exploration and expression to allow his students to find their musical selves. Praised for his sensitive and nuanced playing, Joseph C. is a pianist, composer and teacher currently based in Oxford, UK. He received a scholarship to study piano under Philip Fowke and Penelope Roskell as well as composition under Deirdre Gribbin at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, graduating with a first-class Bachelor's Degree with Honours in 2019. Joseph has played in several venues including Cadogan Hall, New College (Oxford), the Denis Arnold Hall (Oxford), 49 Queen’s Gate Terrace (South Kensington) for the Vernon Ellis Foundation, St. Alfege Church, the Old Royal Naval College and venues in and around Nice (France). One of his passions in repertoire lies with modern and contemporary music. Joseph has worked with Robert Saxton, commissioned works by composer Caitlin Harrison, and has frequently played and recorded new works by young composers for auditions to the national colleges of music and composition competitions. Despite this preference, Joseph also feels at home when performing staple repertoire such as Beethoven, Bach and Rachmaninoff. She went to Poland to further her study. She spent years visiting masterclasses and sit in lessons in different academies. In year 2000, She performed with Allegro Singers in Salzburg.
Years before she was attracted by Prof. Stephen Wong's was attracted by his flawless piano technique , and beautiful melodies she decided to study from him as a life~long teacher.
In recent years, Daphne has been active as a music educator, performer and accompanies. She actively performed with local chamber orchestra in charity concerts, tours at local kindergartens and primary schools, promoting classical music to Hong Kong audience and raising funds for charity.
I started Piano at age 5 and immediately felt a natural connection with it. I shortly acheived grade 8 piano with distinction 5 years later aged 10. The examiners report said "You have a genuine feel for the piano. All the very best for your future music-making." I then acheived diploma piano (ATCL) aged 14 and grade 8 violin one year previously.
Along with winning prizes such as Milton Keynes young musician of the year (U18) aged 12, I have used my music to get me offers from Eton, Harrow, Winchester and I chose Eton, for which I got a full music scholarship.
