Classical Piano Tutor, Teacher
French concert pianist, graduate from Royal College of Music of London.
I've always loved sharing my knowledge and experience, as much as sharing my music on stage with the audience.
I am very careful of always put the student's wishes and thoughts in priority, while finding the right balance between work and enjoyment.
Even though I focus on performing, I have been teaching privately for 8 years now, as I always had a passion of teaching and sharing my passion and everything I've learned with Piano Masters for 20+ Years !
I am very patient, comprehensive, I always try my best to adapt find the right approach and technical tools to help the student in the best way possible.
I take extra care in making sure the musician likes what he is playing, wants to work on it, really understand his strong and weak points, his objectives, and organise my work around it.
I'm also really open in alternative repertoire, and non-conventional pieces, because I'm convinced that you can make a lot of progress working on any type of music, not just the exam or "traditional" classical repertoire.
If you have a music in mind that you dream of playing, don't hesitate to let me know and I will find a score suitable for your abilities, or if it doesn't exist, I will create one !
I'm looking forward to help you achieve your goals and make good music together !

Hello, I'm Vincent N., a passionate mathematician and educator with a diverse background in Actuarial Science and Music. I hold a Master's degree (MSc) in Actuarial Science from Heriot-Watt University and a Bachelor's degree (BSc Hons) in Mathematics with Actuarial Science from the University of Southampton. During my time at Southampton, I initially pursued a Master's in Music (MMus), but unfortunately, due to an injury, I had to transfer to a Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Music.
After completing my undergraduate studies, I furthered my academic journey at Cardiff University, where I earned a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Mathematics. My research focused on "The Risk Models with Non-Local Poisson Processes," and I was fortunate to have Prof. Nikolai Leonenko as my supervisor. This research culminated in a published paper titled "Risk process with mixture of tempered stable inverse subordinators: Analysis and synthesis" in the journal Random Operators and Stochastic Equations.
Beyond academia, I have had the opportunity to share my knowledge and passion for mathematics as a tutor in the Maths support service at Cardiff University. In this role, I assisted students across the university with various mathematical challenges, helping them grasp complex concepts and excel in their studies.
Music has also been an integral part of my life, and I have honed my skills as a pianist and organist over the years. As a freelance Piano/Organ Teacher, I created customized teaching materials to cater to the unique needs of each student, fostering entertaining and engaging learning environments. Additionally, I served as an Organist at St. Nicolas' Church, North Stoneham, preparing and accompanying the choir for Sunday Eucharists and other services.
During my time as Acting Sub-organist at St. John's College, Southsea, I planned and played for college festive services, accompanied the choir during trips across the UK, and provided coaching to young organists. As an Organ Scholar at the same college, I played for regular services alongside the junior organ scholar while mentoring and coaching other aspiring young organists.
Apart from my academic and musical accomplishments, I am multilingual, being a native speaker of Chinese (Cantonese), fluent in Mandarin, and proficient in English. Moreover, I possess Grade 8 proficiency in Piano, Organ, and music theory, which further enriches my ability to bridge the worlds of mathematics and music.
Combining my love for mathematics with my passion for teaching, I am dedicated to inspiring and empowering students to embrace the beauty and logic of mathematics. My multifaceted background allows me to approach teaching with creativity, enthusiasm, and a deep understanding of different learning styles. Together, let's embark on an exciting journey to unlock the mysteries of mathematics and unleash your full potential.

My name is Rose E., I have been teaching music for over twenty years and I could teach you the many pleasures and challenges of learning a musical instrument.
It does not matter if you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced, or if you are young or not so young, learning an instrument is a wonderful and fulfilling activity.
There is no boring scale-bashing any more for beginners. These days books are exciting and stimulating. Teaching techniques have improved greatly and beginners' books, whether for keyboard or woodwind, just make you want to play.
My pupils are individuals and have many different tastes and likes and dislikes, but the thing they have in common is that they develop a secure technique, coupled with a sound musical knowledge, so that they can enjoy playing without being hampered by technical problems.

I am an undergraduate student at the University of Dundee who is passionate about music and is interested in giving private piano lessons in the home of the learner to help others fulfil their desire to learn the piano while also earning some extra money alongside my studies. I have been plearning and playing the piano from a very young age and despite not taking lessons anymore, I still love playing music in my day-to-day, and want to encourage others to be able to do the same. I have tutored friends, family and classmates so far and am lacking some professional tutoring experience, which means I am able to offer a lower rate per hour and I also offer the first lesson free. I have some experience baby sitting and I was previously a girl-guide and leader for Rainbows, so I can offer lessons to younger children as well as teens and young adults.
I am based in Dundee but am open to travel.
