I am a passionate fitness & sports enthusiast. My journey transitioning from competing in international football tournaments for Chelsea Youth Academy in my early teens, to supporting my brother with heavy visual impairment towards increased body confidence and strength, then coaching football to teenagers in Rio De Janeiro for 6 months & more recently competing for London Muay Thai (kickboxing) clubs & developing my Calisthenics practices. I now deliver Personal Training services across London via mobile home gym visits & training, traditional gym setting exercise, outdoor fitness & Online Coaching. Sessions featuring elements of Boxercise (with the possibility of adding kick strikes), Strength & Conditioning, Yoga & HIIT. I understand the enormous mental & physical benefits experienced from developing the transferable skill of discipline within exercise & fitness in our lives! High level turuion in the principles of Taiji, using the Old Yang Frame form. Primarily teach principles, that can be applied to any martial art. Both aspects can be learnt from soft to hard, ying & Yang in solo drills to two person exercises like "pushing hands" or "chis Sau". Dim Mak pressure points, applications, reflex conditioning, Energy development, Mindfulness in everything, silk Reeling, Rooting, floating root, moving through the frame, & from the centre, conextivity, and disconneting, yielding,..how to devlop yourself into a better person. The art is not a bout fighting but rather getting to understand yourself, and therfore your ability, conflict is always a negative and not the high road. The arts teach spiritual development through physcal action, therfore untlimately buuilding self cointrol, temperance in all things and the abiltiy to discern. Body, mind spirit are integral to all internal martial arts and Taiji offers this wonderfully under a good teacher.
Chi Gong - Energy breath, mind work, static, moving, to develop the intrinsic enrgey of the body - the bio field of the body for health. 80percent of your immiune system is through the Bio Field so learning how to maintine it, heal it, strenghten it in the unforseen circumstances of ill health is key.
The balance of ying and yang, healing and martial in the art has primarily been lost but is still with a few. Energy for healing is the highest ackerlaid as its much easier to hurt than to heal,therfore as you develop spiritually the martial is a means to an end. My primary teaching is from the martial perspective, meaning, everything that is taught is with practial application in mind, not just for self defence, but for health, strong mind, developing inner peace, balance, confidence.
A good martial artist does not look like a warrior but like a human being. Not mysic in the teaching, no moving somebody with energy to see them bounce away, most of this is fake or mind enduced to the student via coin. You wont get much better teaching than what I offer, simple as that, and if your goal is to be the ultimate warrior your at the wrong place, if you want real Taiji, in application, with demonstration for the sake of learning the art and developing yourself. Hello, my name is Megan and I am the founder of Mind Over Matter Fitness and Nutrition. My main role is currently as a personal trainer; however, my original training is as a nutritionist. I graduated in 2006, from Oxford Brookes University with a 1st class honours in Food Science and Nutrition. I have always had a passion for nutrition, but initial more as a chef, working in a small restaurant for 4 years. I graduated and worked for 6 years in the research field, specialising in Glycaemic Index, Insulinemic Index and Weight Loss. My experiences in research enable me to provide my clients with up-to-date and reliable scientific advice which is proven to work.
Although I have always been an active person I have never been someone that has ever been 'sporty'. I hated PE at school and would do anything to get out of it!! My interest in physical activity and exercise started approximately 17 years ago when my mum was diagnosed with osteoporosis, as such she was told to undertake weight bearing activity. So, in support mum I took up running. I can honestly say that for the first 3 weeks I hated it, I moaned constantly and dreaded every session. Suddenly week 4 seemed easier and I could start to see changes in my body shape, I think this was the moment I was addicted to exercise!
From these humble beginnings I have gone from running 10 mins three times a week to regularly competing in multi-day ultra-marathon events and strength training. I have always been an average runner, however, through sensible training and eating I am proud to say that in May 2017 I came 3rd Female in a 97 mile, 3-day ultra-marathon. This passion for my own training has helped me to become a personal trainer and share my passion for exercise and nutrition with my clients.
I love nothing more than to see people achieve their goals, have fun training and most importantly find a greater confidence in themselves and go on to achieve what they never believed possible.

From a young age, I was an active person and regularly played sports - mainly football, tennis and golf. A persistent knee injury slowed me down, and by the age of 18, I was 6ft 3, very skinny and desperate for a new hobby. I decided to get in the gym and start trying to put some muscle on my frame. My real passion for fitness and bodybuilding started then. I guess like most people, it was daunting stepping into a gym for the first time and seeing many experienced people with great physiques. I had no real knowledge of bodybuilding or what it was going to take to build muscle. I believe this is what gave me an early interest in Nutrition, which then developed greatly over the years.
