I have several years of highly successful teaching in Psychology at A level and I have been an examiner for several years with AQA .
Learning should have an element of fun and leave students with a sense of achievement at the end of the session.
My focus for exam preparation is working with students on deciphering questions so the skill of understanding what is required is highly developed. At A level emphasis is on structuring essay type answers in time limited conditions and developing research methodology including the use of statistics,an area students often have difficulty with.
As a Sixth Form tutor I also coached students and worked with them on UCAS applications.
I am a passionate and experienced teacher that likes and do work with teens very well. I have taught mathematics and chemistry to students who others said cannot do well that ended up excelling in their examinations both internal and external examinations.

Prior to teaching I have worked in life science Reasearch and Development and in Biopharamceutical research, sales and marketing. I also worked a part-time voluntary teaching assistant in primary and seconday schools for 2 years. In 2014 I decided to change career completely to become a science teacher, so I trained at Kings College, graduating with my PGCE in 2015.
My background prior to teaching brings additional experience and skills to my teaching. Chemistry is my specialist subject. I have taught and tutored all sciences successfully to years 7 to 11, and have taught and tutored Chemistry and Biology at A level.
I can teach Maths and Chemistry from KS2 to A level. I have been teaching since 1989. I have retired few years back from full time teaching.

I have a long and diverse history of teaching and tutoring, spanning various levels and subjects. I have cultivated a deep passion for education and student development. My journey began at the age of 19 when I started private tutoring GCSE subjects (math, physics, chemistry, biology). I am a fully qualified secondary school teacher specialising in Science and Maths. I have extensive teaching and tutoring experience, in schools and online, in both mainstream teaching and special educational needs teaching. I have successfully taught and tutored pupils for 11 plus and 13 plus entrance exams, as well as for GCSE's in both Maths and Sciences, and for A level Biology and Chemistry.
I have always had alot of success tutoring science and maths online, with all pupils gaining the grades they wanted, and in most cases even higher grades.
I have also 12 years GCSE Science examiner marking experience, which allows me to explain to pupils what examiners are looking for within exam question answers.
I use a variety of course materials, workbooks and textbooks which are matched to the current relevant syllabus that the pupil is studying at their school. In addition I adapt my teaching methods to support the pupils learning needs and help to identify areas of study in which they need help to improve. I also look at revision methods and planning revision timetables with pupils to help them find the option which works best for their learning needs.
Tuition is available for A Level Physics, GCSE Physics, GCSE Chemistry and GCSE Science. KS3 Science is also offered.

Tuitions sessions provided online through the Google Meet platform.
A typical session will involve a short review of previous work and a mix of explanation, verbal questions and exam-style questions to check understanding. Students will complete work during the session using Google Jamboard. This approach will be changed where the tutor judges this is necessary for the ideas being covered or to meet the needs of the Student.
Students may need to print questions so they will need access to a printer.

We have a dedicated covid secure classroom. We have an extremely comprehensive equipment store to cover all the experiments for GCSE and A level Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics). This enables the students to take part in experiments which enhances their learning.
Since the lockdown, our response was to transition, virtually overnight, our teaching online. The tutor’s hands became the student’s hands and the cameras their eyes, the microphone and speakers became their voice and ears. With the power of a broadcast switcher, the student did not have one view but many, depending on what was needed. In addition, we decided to live stream tutorials on YouTube going through GCSE and A level Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, topic by topic, week by week utilising all our equipment for experiments. This was to develop a resource for all not just our own students.
