I have been a science teacher for the past 6/7 years in Staffordshire. Last year my classes achieved an average of two grades above their GCSE target grades. The school I am currently teaching at in Staffordshire is ranked 4th in the county in terms of progress 8.
I am a well qualified graduate achieving an upper second class degree in biology at the university of Liverpool. I have been tutoring both biology and chemistry for the past two years on tutorhunt. During this time, I have helped multiple students achieve excellent grades in science.
I am available most days during the week and would be flexible if needed to change time. I am willing to travel around 15 miles from my house address. Please feel free to ask me any questions.

I am a committed and passionate science educator with a diverse background in teaching and educational leadership, both in the UK and internationally. With over Seven years of experience teaching secondary and GCSE-level science, including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, I have developed a deep understanding of curriculum delivery and student engagement. I hold a degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Chester, which has strengthened my ability to implement strategic and inclusive approaches to teaching and school improvement.
I have worked in a range of secondary school settings across Stoke-on-Trent, where I have demonstrated flexibility, strong classroom management, and a commitment to student welfare and safeguarding. I hold certificates in ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education,’ ‘Day-to-Day Cover,’ and ‘Safeguarding,’ and I have experience supporting students with special educational needs (SEN).
My educational leadership training, combined with hands-on experience in diverse school environments, has equipped me with the skills to contribute positively to whole-school development, foster inclusive practices, and support learners from various cultural and academic backgrounds. I am continuously seeking opportunities for professional growth and aspire to transition into a permanent teaching or middle leadership role within the UK education system.
Having studied Natural Sciences at Cambridge University alongside coaching the university football team I chose to go into teaching as I enjoyed combining my science knowledge with my ability to explain methods to young people. Seeing young people improve was extremely rewarding and I wanted to put this in an educational setting. I have been a Head of Year and am now Head of a large Science Department. This allows me to keep in touch with new teaching methods and discuss with colleagues ways to help pupils improve especially with essay writing in Biology and data analysis. I am also part of the local AQA hub and therefore I am very aware of where pupils make errors in exams and how to improve in these areas.

I have tutored all the major exam boards and have always enjoyed an excellent degree of success. My approach to tutoring is very flexible and I can easily mould my approach to the needs of the student. My experience has shown that most students need help with interpretation of exam questions and a translation of knowledge into marks. To this end, I have a large database of questions to prompt discussion of the subject matter and requirements of the exam markers.
I studied chemistry back in the 90's and stayed on at university to do a PhD in medicinal chemistry and some post doctoral research into polymers. My industrial experience includes AVECIA in huddersfield and Astra Zeneca in Macclesfield. I entered teaching in 2004 and I have never looked back. I quickly took up oportunities of tutoring and have done this alongside my teaching ever since.

I am a friendly, highly experienced and innovative teacher who uses the latest approaches to promote student success. I have taught the sciences up to A Level for a number of years and have contributed to the design and implementation of both resources and curricula in my school's science department over these years. I currently teach biology, chemistry and physics to 11-16 year olds and also run a science, technology, engineering and mathematics club to engage and excite students.
Through regular attendance of training sessions I have developed my ability to design resources which effectively aid science teaching whilst simultaneously promoting literacy, mathematics and questioning during the delivery of science lessons. In particular, I use Bloom's taxonomy effectively in my resource design to deepen learning everyday. Alongside setting up a STEM club for secondary pupils, I have also set up an Urdu language club and teach Urdu language to 11 to 16 year olds
