No matter where you are in your learning journey, I can build your understanding, confidence and attainment, if you are willing to try, work hard and follow my guidance.
I have an excellent understanding of how students learn through evidence-based research and classroom practice. I have a systematic approach - I understand the student's need, how they think, their gaps in knowledge, their misconception and work with them to develop their confidence in the subject, be exam-ready and fulfil their potential.
I started tutoring alongside my studies in 2006. I've always found immense satisfaction in those lightbulb moments when someone struggling with a concept finally gets it. Science and especially chemistry is full of abstract ideas and often young people need that extra support from someone who can break it down to just the right level or explain in a way that it makes sense to them. I have a strong grasp on the curriculum and I adapt my teaching according to the needs of the pupils to ensure progress.
Any questions, feel free to drop me a message.

I am currently unavailable until early 2025.
I am a fully qualified science teacher (first class degree, PGCE, QTS and DBS check). I teach at an 11-18 school with 8 years experience as a private tutor, with my speciality being in Chemistry. I have taught the full range of levels and abilities with experience of a variety of exam boards (AQA, OCR and Edexcel). My students have always provided me with positive feedback and achieved at least their desired target grades.
I have experience in industry and use those skills and technquies to link the courses to real life uses as I believe that knowing how areas of the course are used in life gives a better connection and undertsanding of the content. I make and provide my own resources for the content that I am teaching and use as many exam style questions as possible. These are used to help improve the student's understanding of what is expected and not to fear a question that they may feel that they 'don't understand' but the skills and confident to attempt questions. To also continually assess the student's understanding, I carry out end of topic assessments with them to see how they are truly progessing in the given topic. Following from this, all assessments are then discussed between the student and I to comment on any errors made and how these can be improved upon.
Each child is different and will understand things in their own time in a way that best suits them, I am here to provide support to students and I am willing to work with them to find a learning method that suits them to make the best progress.
I provide face-to-face tuition (dependent upon location) and online tuition - I use either Zoom or Skype.

Before starting the lesson immediately I like to book a free 30 minute session with the student to get to know them and identify what they want to learn first and most importantly their school curriculum!
I also like to do a quick quiz to identify which type of learner they are so my sessions are able to capture their attention and make sure that they enjoy Chemistry as a subject but also ace their exams!

Hi!
My name is Asif K., and I currently hold a Bachelors in Chemistry with Chemical Engineering.
I went into the education sector and attained my PGCE and QTS through a SCITT program called GORSE SCITT. This is where I learnt the fundamentals of how to teach core subjects with efficiency and outstanding progress. I use a mix of videos and quick-fire questioning with examination prep to ensure the student can articulate their knowledge in the subject. I have experience teaching Chemistry, Physics and Biology to a GCSE level and Chemistry (A-level).
I have 3 years tutoring and teaching experience with a valid DBS check. Additionally, I can offer the first lesson free, this is to ensure we can devise a study plan which will maximise your true potential through a growth mindset.
I look forward to meeting you, feel free to message me!

Can tutor in most subjects. I'm a friendly tutor and love working with children. All children learn in different ways with different methods and i adapt my tutoring for each child to make them enjoy the classes and get the most out of the 60 minutes. I've taught ages from 4 all the way up to 24. I graduated from University of Leeds in May 2022, getting a 2:1 in Biology, and have worked as a supply teacher in schools all around Leeds since Janurary. I started my full time teaching position after completing a PGCE in Secondary Science, i work at Allerton Grange in Alwoodley. I enjoy teaching A level as well as IB, I specialise in Biology and really strive for my GCSE students to obtain 9’s in Triple Higher Biology. I teach all Triple and Combined curriculums as well as Spanish and French (as I am multi lingual). In my first year of teaching my Year 11 pupils jumped up 2 grades from a 6 in Higher Biology to an 8. I pride myself on being adaptive, compassionate but firm with my exam techniques.
I'm very understanding of different situations and backgrounds children can come from, and adjust teaching materials to fit each individual. I can help with homework and if they need extra help with worksheets i can find some for the right module and topic. I've lived abroad my whole life, so i have an open mind and i'm great at adaptating to new situations. My email is ***@*** and my number is tel: *** under the education section on the right hand side, as it is my work email.

I have taught to the very highest level within some of the country's most prestigous schools, both within the State and Private sectors. Awarded Advanced Skills Teacher (AST) status within the first tranche of assessed secondary teachers, I have promoted Chemistry throughout my career and developed a wealth of experience. I am an inspirational teacher who knows how best to tailor my tuition to support students to fulfil their potential.
During my career I have supported numerous students through successful Oxbridge applications and have seen three of my students attain Top Candidate Awards for their performances within their A Level examinations; truly remarkable given that they were competing against a national cohort in excess of 30,000 entrants. I have seen many of my students go on to attain Gold Awards in the Chemistry Olympiad in Year 13 and had several achieve the top Roentgenium Award within the Cambridge Chemistry Challenge Lower Sixth (C3L6).
Equally, I have taught many students who have found Chemistry a real challenge; I have an impressive record of success in bolstering their confidence and allowing them to achieve beyond their initial expectations. Having taught over 1500 students at GCSE/IGCSE I have never had a student fall below a Grade C; this despite teaching for many years in a non-selective, London comprehensive. Over 70% have attained top A/A* or Level 8/9 grades.
One of the most experienced A Level teachers within the country, I have taught over 750 students; over 90% attaining Grade C or above, with over 70% achieving A/A* grades.
